Re: Justice League-Parts 1 & 2 (2017 and 2019)
I really hope it's not going to be inspired by Injustice. Im really tired of Superman not being treated as a good guy. Already, WB, Snyder and DC seem to hate or at best, not to know what to do with Supes, but to tarnish him even more, that would be the last straw...
Nah, don't worry, they're not adapting it. Taking visual cues yeah, but it won't be a straight-up adaptation. Injustice was a story about ideological rifts, it had nothing to do with Darkseid and his invasion. From what we saw in the Knightmare sequences, this Superman has give up all hope in humanity, which is the total opposite of Injustice. My guess is that we'll be seeing this Alt-Future in snippets as Bruce is gathering the League.
The whole thing reminds me of Nu52's Earth-2 series, which featured a devastated earth with Pits and destroyed cities, an evil Superman who worked for Darkseid, Parademons and a grand plot about Darkseid's second invasion, all the while the few heroes left were trying to defend themselves. Injustice, kinda like Civil War or Kingdom Come, had the conflict be between two warring factions, each one of them featuring superhumans. From what we've seen from Knightmare and what we've heard from the Flash, this Superman became everything Bruce feared, so I don't see any Leaguers joining with him. For example, Flash was in Superman's side in Injustice.
Bottom line is, while at first glance (with the soldiers and all) it seems as if they're adapting that, the world established in the few minutes of Knightmare's footage doesn't point to Injustice, at all. It's more realistic to presume it's a semi-adaptation of "The Dark Side", but that still has too many differences. But, considering we don't know the backstory of that future, or the motivations of its inhabitats or anything like the that, I think it's best we just "lay low" for a while on the speculation front.
If they're gonna base the story on a video game, I think we can all agree they should go with Q-Bert. Or barring that, Donkey Kong.
But what about the Mario Bros? Mario (Superman) and Luigi (Batman) are going against a bigger, meaner foe in Bowser (Darkseid) with the help of various Toads (JL), while encountering many enemies along the way (Parademons). The similarities are uncanny if I say so myself...
