Take a music class. Learn about beats rhythm and such then maybe you'll hear the difference. Indy is more actiony music where as Superman is more wonderment. Indiana Jones theme plays out in more beats than Superman. And Star Wars is something different altogether. But Williams has done a lot of music, and I do admit in the later 80'e and after some of it does sound the same.

so i need to be a music scholar and have a degree to differentiate the clearly similar scores? .... williams, smug much? lol

i am ok with the star wars theme and the indiana jones is just a little bit cheesy (feels like it belongs in a kids adventure movie or the muppet pirates or something)

but i never liked the superman theme that much because it sounds too comical and too light hearted, made superman sound almost like a comedy when i first heard it on the movie. a mel brooks movie or something

No, you don't have to be a music scholar, lol. But ai thought it was pretty similar too before I read up on music and took a music class in college. Raiders was meant to be popcorny music. The idea is based off old movie serials. You don't like the Superman theme you don't have to. It was made in the 70's for a different character than the Superman in MOS. I like it better because it fits the hopefulness of the character. Zimmer, well Zimmer fits what it's made for.

Ok, well you said Williams score made Superman sound too comical and light hearted. When the movie opens what do we see when the curtains part? A comic book. What is the source material? A comic book. Light hearted, I guess so considering the source material which just proves one of the problems some have had with MOS and the other DC films , they are too somber and serious. Which leads to the original point of all this Justice League, and Joss Whedons music choices. The DC films needs more light hearted comical moments. So I guess you proved one of the problems with the DC film series. Thank you

None of the modern DC movie soundtracks are very good. None of the motifs hold a candle to what Williams and Elfman did.

Yes, there are elements to Zimmer and Junkie XL's music that I like (some of the stuff in Begins, Superman's first flight, the crazy techno music during the Mad Max Batman sequence), but it's still not as good.

I don't care about these crappy DC movies. If Elfman throws a few old cues in there to spruce things up, I don't see what would be so bad about that. It doesn't even sound like he's going to repeat previous work per se. Sounds like he's going to add a few musical easter eggs in there and that's the extent of it.

The Dark Knight Rises is up there with Superman: The Movie and Batman, IMHO. Love Banes theme and the Basara chant. And like BB and TDK the base music is driving and powerful.

WW has the best comic book theme since Batman.

Nu-Superman's is at lest noticeable.

No other comic movies have much in memorial soundtracks. Dredd and Ironman maybe.

Zimmer did great work on Nolan's Batman. Elfman's Spidey theme is nice. I enjoyed the final scene of him swinging through the city had some nice music too.

You have to be one sour miserable sob to hate on that JW Superman theme.

I’m starting a “Give crows a Hug” charity lol

I can only assume it's an elaborate troll like when he suckered batfan08 into believing that white babies are racist. Well played on pretending to hate JW crows, well played.

When I moved to CT a lot of towns would play the Superman theme during firework shows on the fourth.

They play it at a public water fountain show near me. :lol

However many months back. I can't remember which thread. Something about white privilege and "accidental racism" at birth that was getting batfan fired up. :lol

I memba

I don't get it.

lolol

There is nothing quite like watching the JW Superman theme being played live it is even more impressive than SW, Indy, CE and Jaws as difficult as that is to believe but it just was so majestic to behold.

The horns, violin, cello, flute and clarinet sections are an absolute thing of dynamic beauty to watch.

I was fortunate enough to be front row during JW Berkshire mountains show it was just absolutely mesmerizing to soak it all in.
