I think the fighting was fine yeah winter soldier will never be topped with fighting but still there was some good scenes in this film for damn sure.

I almost forgot to mention did anyone else notice how the motherbox

backstory as told by Diana was almost a complete lift from the LOTR FOTR ring back story!

All of Supermans scenes were reshot? I can't believe they didn't include the one of him in the cornfield.

Oh okay cool. Some jabroney on Twitter said they didn't. Without spoiling anything, just how bad was the cgi mustache cover up? :lol

Pretty bad pretty noticeable but in the grand scheme of things pretty minuscule when compared to the bigger problems that plaque this film.

The movie tried replacing dour from MOS/BvS with heart in JL.

I’m ok with a movie having heart but it also needs to make sense and not feel rushed.

Supes' entire role in the film was reshot. Whatever Snyder shot WB clearly didn't like.

Rumor is
in Snyder's version it was Steppenwolf who brought back Supes to help him fight the JL (thus fulfilling Batman's "Knightmare" vision of a warlord Supes). Apparently the film ended on a cliffhanger with the JL losing to Steppenwolf and Supes and "an outside force" arriving to aid the JL as the credits rolled (prob the GL Corps). The cliffhanger also explains why Snyder was crafting a 2-part story & was committed to a "JL Part II" prior to the BvS debacle.

That to me is infinitely better in that it would make JL almost an anti-Avengers in that the heroes aren't victorious on their first gathering.

Honestly, that’s pretty much exactly what my desired headcanon was. I would’ve loved to see the JL be like “oh, ****” when Steppenwolf arrives accompanied by this mother****er heralding the arrival of Darkseid:

But, then, people would’ve bitched about that, too.:lol

Maybe, just maybe WB lets Snyder cut a DC in five years. Then we can get a true sequel to the criminally underrated BvS.

I imagine they probably vetoed that before it was even shot, unfortunately. At this point, I’m just taking it all as it comes and hoping that they at least get to a point where they’re consistent in their more “optimistic” DCEU films, but, while I won’t lie and say I didn’t like JL, I will say that I am disappointed that we never got to see Snyder’s vision actualized.

Again music not ground breaking and not Elfman's best but not bad either just very basic. I'll be sticking up for this film I still enjoyed it a lot even with it's problems.

Agreed, I think the pacing and character interaction were miles ahead of BvS. I'm really glad they updated Cyborg at the end, really only other thing that irked me was the Flash costume. Loved the after credits scene.

Overall a fun flick that I enjoyed I actually like flashes costume and the after credit scenes were awesome. Hopeful future.

I was specifically referring to technical fight choreography not chemistry though.

But with chemistry yes I agree that was probably the only highlight of the entire movie the chemistry amongst each other.

Not always perfect but it worked when it was needed more than not.

If you didn't geek out when Superman looked directly at the flash running around the side, you're probably just a burn out. I'm very glad they showcased Superman's speed in this. So many small touches in this film really clicked well.

The costume didn't make sense from the movie's narrative when Bruce was in his apartment, since its obvious hes protected by the speed force because he moves without the costume just as well without his clothes getting damaged, etc... or did I miss something? I just figured that idea was another discard from the "unite the seven era/storyline"

I believe It was a discarded idea but I still found the suite to be cool that's just me though.

I agree with ApeManRyan. I liked it too. I thought Batman V Superman was a mess and even the ultimate cut got worse on repeat viewings. For those who wanted WB and Whedon to go with Snyder's original plan for Superman, I have to ask...do you even LIKE Superman? Do we really want ANOTHER film where we have a Superman who isn't a hero in any sense of the word? I don't. I'm happy with how he was used here. The mustache situation was only bad in the first scene of the film. It was incredibly distracting. After that, I didn't notice it anymore.

Steppenwolf was terrible. I agree with everyone there. I don't know if he's the worst comic movie villain ever as I honestly enjoyed him more than Eisenberg's Lex(hated that) but he wasn't good. I dug the league itself with everyone working to various degrees. I thought some of Flash's humor was weak and I thought Batman's weird Superman manlove was a bit...too much at times but I thought Cyborg and Aquaman and Wonder Woman worked great throughout.

Did they just make an MCU flick? Yep. Did it bother me? Nope. I like Man of Steel and Suicide Squad but even this film, which did have some issues with cgi, editing, and being too short, I enjoyed infinitely more to them.

In every single superman scene huh? Well that's depressing, but i can't say I'm surprised.

Same, he looked like his mouth was packed full of ****, tbh I didn't even notice it later.

You can like Superman and still enjoy different takes. I like Red Son Communist Superman, too. Personally, I feel like having him return as a disciple of Darkseid could’ve lent itself to some heavy subject matter. Case in point: that idea of the world losing hope without Superman. What if the Justice League know he was the mystery man leading the Apokoliptan Invasion, but no one else does? He breaks free of whatever brainwashing they’ve used on him to that point and then the JL are faced with a moral quandary: do we let people know that this was Superman? Do we hold him responsible? Did he know what he was doing? Has he suffered enough?

There are all kinds of approaches you could take that would fit within the narrative created by MoS and BvS. The problem is, it seems like those of us who enjoyed that take were so in the minority that WB saw fit to throw the baby out with the bath water in favor of something more audience friendly, which is fine, and, like I said, I actually enjoyed a great deal of JL, but, to me, I feel like I’d take consistency and a director’s artistic vision over a movie that was, essentially, created by a committee of studio executives.

In a vacuum what you say makes sense and can be practical, but in a dollars and cents practical marketing world, after BvS they needed to shift to make sure their current run at a world didn't go the way of Superman Returns. I think I was one of about 5 people that ever defended MoS in its thread, and I enjoyed SS and JL, but even I am dumbfounded at what pleasure anyone gets from watching BvS. I'm pretty sure its the only superhero movie ever made that i have never watched more than once, and I can find enjoyment in some real duds. :lol
