If WB wasn't run by idiots, they would have allowed Snyder to complete his Superman trilogy. If they absolutely felt the need to butcher this franchise tonally it needed to happen after JL. Superman would have reached "maturity" [as Snyder intended] and his change in behavior would have been a good pairing for a change in tone to the overall film.

Firing Snyder during JL was dumb. ****ing dumb.

The one sequence from BvS that seemingly received universal praise was the freaking "Knightmare" but WB refused to let Zack make two hours of *that?* Morons. :slap

I assume that Flash going back in time to tell Bruce that Lois is the key is completely ignored in JL?

It isn't specifically mentioned but Bruce does use Lois as his "big gun" to get Superman to chill out ha

But he could've easily figured that out without time-traveling Flash.

Completely.

Snyder's [rumored] cut of JL naturally did explore that further:

In Snyder's version, its Steppenwolf who resurrects Superman to help him fight the JL (thus fulfilling Batman's "Knightmare" vision of Superman the warlord) and the film would end on a cliffhanger with the JL losing to Steppenwolf & warlord Supes while "an outside force" arrives to aid the JL as the credits roll (probably the Lantern Corps). The cliffhanger aspect explains why Snyder proposed a 2-part story & was committed to a "Justice League PART II" before BvS got him fired.

Holy**** they were going to drag out Superman’s evolution another ****ing movie?!?!

Thank goodness they cut their losses.

The DCCU was teasing a happy, heroic, recognizable Superman the way Marvel has teased Thanos.

'memba when Superman used to be fun? 'memba?

'memba when Batman used to be fun?

Just walked out of the theatre and in a few ways the movie reminded me of AOU. The scene in the batcave between Bruce and Diana felt like the talk between Tony and Steve about doing the right thing. The battle at the end in the foreign village, and the idea of stopping the big baddie from getting his hands on one thing he needed to carry out his evil plot. The villain was as lame as Ultron was too. They also dumbed Batman down a lot since BvS. Batman has always been the smartest guy in the room, here he comes across like he's figuring out as he went.

Completely.

I kind of figured they were going for that and it made sense to do that, but I guess WB got cold feet with all of the negative reaction BvS got.
