As a Superman fan, I can tell you he never had his Year One or TDK. The TPs aren't that good either. I would recommend the following though:

- Superman vs Spiderman. It's silly 1970 team up and very naive, but THAT is Superman in all its glory
- the complete Death/funeral/Rebirth is just awesome. Death and Rebirth are just... Okay stories I guess, but the funeral part, without Superman, is just a gem. It makes you understand why Superman is so important in that universe
- if you're into origin stories, the 80s reboot, Birthright or the current official one, Secret Origins, are all very good.
- I personnaly hate All Star Supes and quite love Kingdom Come, but I don't consider KC a Superman story, more of a DCU story.

Other than that, there are some very good individual stories from all eras gathered in the many anthologies, some great Elseworld stories (like Red Son) but they're not your typical Supes. and I repeat, Supes still has to meet his Frank Miller.

Good list. Thanks :wave

I'm reading Doomsday Clock now.

I hope DC brings back the red trucks eventually. It seems they have been trying to "update" the suit for the past 7 years, but haven't been successful.

Yes, I hope they bring back the trunks too, but I doubt they will, at not as long as those presently in charge are still in charge, but one day, it'll resurface I'm sure. Icons always get back to their fundamentals one way or another. In the meantime, i guess we got the best of both worlds:still somewhat like the original costume but enough to satisfy the New 52 lovers. It's, I'm afraid a necessary compromise.

Yeah, the new 52 suit was an abomination :lol I can't believe he wore that for 5 years. :gah:

Warner Bros. Distribution President Jeff Goldstein told TheWrap that he still believes the film could have a solid performance on Thanksgiving weekend despite the presence of such high-quality competitors, saying that “high tides raise all ships.”

But not rocks.

Man the salt of all the Moore***s over their sacred cow is just delicious.

I didn't quite like except when a few select artists where drawing it. Same foes for the new rebirth one, had they given him a straight belt and round belt buckle, they'd have a definitive trunkless look.

I also hope they bring back the undies, tho.

I can accept that Kryptonian armor :)slap) as an alternate suit that he wears to retain his solar power when he travels long distances when traveling to other solar systems, universes, and planets, but as his normal earth costume? **** no.

It'd make sense if he wore that armor when fighting Darkseid or on certain JL issues too.

There are many things I didn't like about it as a concepts, I just occasionally liked the design.

Why is the idea of Superman just putting on a costume made of kryptonian fabric like everyone else puts on clothes avoided so much? The dude can do ANYTHING, let him have regular little things like all other humans.

That's funny. The rebirth suit went back to fabric but they added a championship title belt around his waist. :lol

He's wearing a belt, but has no belt loops because he has no trunks :slap
