In what sense?

And aren't you the guy who thinks the first JLA movie would best work having Batman as an antagonist? :lol

Fastest way to cripple a potential DCU on film would be to have a movie featuring mostly b/c-list heroes and then try to get their individual movies off the ground. :lol And not only is Batman not a c-list League member, but in my sense, antagonist wouldn't equal villain. Curious to see how you'd introduce all the JLA members and their powers in a manner that makes sense and doesn't come off as cheesy.

Cyborg is the new Martian Manhunter, but I'd hate to see them go that way in the movie.

I think a Doomsday or villain team-up is the only way to go. Luthor and Ras al Ghul are more known than any JLA specific villain like Amazo or The Key.

Waaaaaaaay too late for that. Especially with the likelihood of him popping up in credit sequences.

Yeah but still the average movie goer has no idea who Thanos is.

Avengers spoiler:

Only a fraction of the audience knew who that was at the end of the movie.

Now is WB's only chance to get Darkseid out without it "appearing" to be a full blown copy of Thanos.

Yes and no. With all the press screaming "THANOS!" and the potential for the character likely to develop with each new Marvel movie released, for WB to do Darkseid would easily be seen as a Thanos knockoff. I think with Superman already being introduced, Uncle Dave's idea of Doomsday is a better option. They could even have Superman die in the beginning (to come back in MoS 2) and have the heroes left to figure out how to battle him.

Not to sound stupid. Is this all talk or are they really making a JL movie?

They've hired a writer and reportedly are looking for directors (which seems to be them trying to get Nolan to do it before looking elsewhere)

When WB announced all the films they've got in the pipeline, they did more than simply announce, all of them are currently in pre-production with scripts being worked on (technically GL2's script is done if they go with the original premise), so I would imagine if they are actually happening (remember Wonder Woman has been in pre-development hell for over a decade) you'll hear directors pop up soon.

Even then it takes time, 20th Century Fox announced David Slade was taking on Daredevil's reboot over a year ago and it's still in scripting, he is working on it and occasionally posting his twitter updates but it shows that even getting a director nailed down still could equal a lengthy wait.

Superman was in development for over a decade before Superman Returns came about too. Just because a script is being written means nothing.

At one point they liked George Miller's project well enough to start casting and designing - I'm wondering why they don't just go back to that?

Would love for this to happen but they need to be serious and stop putting out movies like green lantern

Warners probly has over a dozen scripts, designs, mabey even costumes in there archives for possible DC Epics but the ideas always seem to flop.

Id love an epic JLA movie but this is just somthing ya cant rush, just cause Avengers was a megahit.

They should of began planning years ago, im shure they knew what Marvel was planning from Day 1. Best bet is to ride out MOS and see how it is all around.
