^^ I hope Cavill is the Superman of the Justice League movie.. It'll just be too confusing for fans if they also cast a different Superman for their JL movies, since fans have to get used to a new Bats, as they have a very vivid memory of Bale as Batman.

Agreed. Especially if Man of Steel proves successful at the box office.

That would make it rebooted quicker than Spider-Man, hope it gets more *****ing and complaining than that caused

Well in Batman's defense it was portrayed as a complete trilogy in its own universe with a beginning, middle, and end. ASM took could have taken the existing characters and continued on (even with a new cast) as opposed to going back to square one with the origin. They could have even pulled an "X-Men" and just retconned SM3 out of continuity if they wanted.

Depends on whether, like ASM, they use the opportunity to make the same bloody movie all over again. So long as they avoid a doing a remake of Begins, they'll avoid the same criticism. Batman's definitive origin is done. Start in the middle of the story ... like Spider-man should've. Maybe do a definitive Robin origin, instead of another blasted Batman origin.

Raimi's Spider-Man's story was done with SM3, it was basically Harry Osborns story, it had a beginning, middle and end.

Similarities? Sure. But far, far from the same movie, and people were complaining before ASM even came out because of the Five years reboot issue :lecture

______

Either way, despite what goes on behind the scenes. Batman will have a reboot only three years after it's last film, that is sooner than ASM so it should garner the same controversy and online arguements

When the time comes that RDJr decides he's done playing Tony Stark one thing I expect Marvel will handle better than Fox or Sony is the handoff to a new actor.

I expect it will just happen. Without a new origin, reboot, do-over, remake, story point or excuse. They don't even need to re-start the numbering on the movie titles.

And at some point there will be continuity goofs and retcons. Just like comics.

JLA can have Bruce as Batman in a sorta-Nolan suit and a new actor, and they shouldn't have to labor the point.

It was the same movie. A Spider-man origin story. They changed the chick's hair color, and gave Parker a dad before they offed the uncle (we're only two movies from finding out it was Sandman). Yahoo.

I still don't get why you're whining that there should be more whining. Batman will get the same complaints if they do the same thing again. If they do something fresh, they probably won't.

I like Batman better anyway. Who said we're required to treat all movies equally? I look forward to a Batman reboot. Lots of different directions they can go with it. I didn't for SM. They went the same direction anyway ... so the reboot announcement was "meh", and the movie itself reinforced the original "meh".

You do realize Harry Osborn isn't Spider-Man, right? :lol
Yeah, I don't follow the logic on that one. Just because the series ends with his end doesn't mean the series was about him. He was a secondary character that could have been taken completely out of all those films and the same essential stories would have been told, minus the sub-plot he was a part of.

I'd argue that either A: Raimi didn't have a Nolanesque overarching story to tell or B: that his story never finished.

The series wasn't about Harry Osborn. There was no story to tell, it's nice that it wraps up in a tight little bow but in reality if there was a story to tell about two friends who become enemies and then redeem then Harry would have been front and center in two and then spearheaded 3. He was a footnote in 1, an afterthought really in 2, just a plot device to add a bit more drama rather and move something along and in 3 felt shoehorned in to take advantage of Franco's budding popularity.

Not to mention the cluster**** that was Curt Connors being ****teased all the way through the franchise. Nothing about 3 screams wrapped up or tied together, 3 feels like being in the middle of a book and then slamming it closed and calling it done.

As for the Aquaman comments, anyone who has kept up with Johns' recent series or even the JL arcs, knows that he isn't a joke of a character but can be played with a lot of humor and would make an interesting vehicle for an actor on screen. You're going to have your "Can Do No Wrongs in the eyes of the fans" in Batman and Superman, you're action from Green Lantern and Wonder Woman and your Comic Relief from Aquaman and The Flash with the Martian Manhunter most likely played like "Country Mouse in the City".

If Levitt is in this as Blake for the Batman connection it'll be fun to watch the net burn with the flames of nerds saying it should be Bruce juxaposed with the Nolanites clammering with their "redemption" and I'd give WB credit for having the balls to go bold.

I don't see how this film makes any headway without Reynolds, Cavill and Levitt really being involved as the audiences will have points of references but the fact it's all rumors and conjecture and this film isn't that far off, makes me think that WB probably has no clue what the **** they are doing yet either.

I could've posted this under the GotG thread but it's more interesting to me as a Justice League news item. IF this is true it's probably a safe bet there's no John Blake in MOS or the JL film.

EXCLUSIVE: The derby to land the lead role of Peter Quill in Guardians Of The Galaxy has gotten even more interesting. Marvel Studios has added Joseph Gordon-Levitt to the list of actors they are considering for what is seen as its next major franchise launch.

Deadline reported that Marvel had made test deals with Zero Dark Thirty‘s Joel Edgerton, Boardwalk Empire‘s Jack Huston, Cloud Atlas‘ Jim Sturgess, Lee Pace (who has roles in both Lincoln and The Hobbit), and Eddie Redmayne from Les Miserables. More recently, Zachary Levi was identified as a candidate.

I’m not sure if Gordon-Levitt has been offered the role and nobody would comment, but he’s in the mix. He is just coming out of the superhero movie The Dark Knight Rises, which left him in an intriguing position as Chris Nolan’s film trilogy concluded.

James Gunn is directing the film, and Quill is the Guardians leader who is the offspring of a human mother and an alien father. Guardians Of The Galaxy first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1969 but didn’t get its own series until the 1990s. Quill leads a group of alien superheros who team to protect the solar system from an evil alien race. The good guys are from the future, and another dimension. In the comics, the Guardians worked with The Avengers, so there should be opportunities to use Marvel’s big franchises to help launch the new one. That gives Disney a deep space companion to its plans to resuscitate Star Wars.

There has also been mention of interest in Garrett Hedlund, James Marsden (he already played Cyclops in X-Men, but then again Chris Evans played Fantastic Four‘s Human Torch before landing Captain America), and Edgerton’s Animal Kingdom co-star Sullivan Stapleton.

EXCLUSIVE: Meet The Final 5 Members Of The ‘Justice League’ & See Who Didn’t Make The Final Cut!

Good morning fanboy nation! It’s been a busy mid week with the Marvel scoop I dropped yesterday and now finally the Justice League scoop I been teasing y’all on twitter about.

So what’s the latest with DC Comics answer to The Avengers 2 now that both films are slated to go mano a mano in the summer of 2015?

As of this morning, they are STILL looking for a director. In the meantime, according to sources, the final cinematic Justice League roster will consist of five core members featuring:

1) Superman

2) Batman

3) Green Lantern

4) Wonder Woman

5) The Flash

Fret not fanboys because the Justice League bench is quite deep. There might be one or two cameos from the 2nd stringers. The Justice League Varsity B team consists of:

6) Martian Manhunter

7) Aquaman

The 3rd sting bum juice practice squad sole member with the weakest possibility of a cameo:

8) Hawkman

So there ya have it. Again, five core members and one or two possible cameo appearances. Think about it for a second, this film will most likely be almost three hours and even then that is still not enough time to give back stories to seven plus characters, have a plot, maybe a romantic entanglement, and throw in Darkseid’s evil plan to boot. It’s overkill.

Wouldn’t it be a cool cameo possibility instead if there is a human character throughout the film and during the climatic third act battle – twist – he turns into Martian Manhunter revealing his true identity! That would be badass!

My money is on Martian Manhunter scoring the cameo because after all, the threat to the Justice League is going to be cosmic, so they are probably going to need help from some good guy alien. Water is always expensive to shoot hence Aquaman might get no love unless the Justice League needs something at the bottom of the ocean that Vinny Chase (Aquaman) can provide. Ok, poor attempt at humor. I see Hawkman as the Tim Tebow of the bunch so the general manager should trade him or outright release him.

It makes sense concentrating on the core five, three of which already had movies and are pretty well known. Then maybe introduce a new member as a cameo that can be fully explored and fleshed out in a sequel if it happens. Looking forward to what you guys think so chime in below.

I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't have Aquaman in there, what with the way DC's been pushing the character as of late.
