Re: Keaton Batman

I'm getting so antsy now, I can't believe I'm so close to getting this thing in hand, I haven't even gotten it yet and I anticipate this will go in my top 5 1/6 acquisitions of the year.

Re: Keaton Batman

Each time a custom project pops up here, I grow more appreciative of this board. In the space of a few years, we've gone from nit-picky buyers to true hobbyists, supporting and in some cases developing some great custom artists.

Shawn's Keaton Batman...Spenser's Goldfinger and Blofeld...Darren's new Lennon project...and Christian Bale as whoever-you-choose by Feng, available nowhere else so far as I know, thanks to Jack...

Yep, this is the place to be for 1:6. We gotcher honest-to-gosh 1:6 Hall of Fame right here at the Freaks board, folks. I look forward to hearing more from Shawn.

You are so dead on the money Gruff. I love this site for exactly those reasons. It doesn't feel like a site full of rabid fanboys that only want to be better than the next guy. It's a place for true supporters of the 1:6th market, doing our best to give everyone the best figures that we can. Things you cannot find anywhere else. That rules. :rock

And great work Shawn.. That cowl looks a million times better, you really have done fantastic work on this figure. And yeah, I have got to agree with you about Les... that man KNOWS his Batman lore. I know that when I am doubting something I have done or needing input from someone that knows costume details and such... I call Les. His knowledge is priceless.

Re: Keaton Batman

Paul, I can't think of anyone else with as cool a customs collection as yours, at least not of properties I know and enjoy, loving the Batman setup dude :rock

Re: Keaton Batman

Holy flashbacks Pjam. We're back in the 70's.

Try the mid 60s. :lol

Thanks Sean, appreciate it. This project was 2 years in the making... first the figs, then the vehicle. In better light, I'll take more shots. The Batmobile is a tad longer than 29 inches, it is HUUUUGE, Great detailing. The figs are a bit large for it but fit inside okay so it works for me displaywise...

Maybe I should start a 60s Superheroes thread as Wor-Gar suggested, lots of stuff there, Green Hornet, etc.

Anyway I have wanted this ever since I was a little kid, it is a grail piece for me... so

stay tuned, same Bat time.. same... you know the rest. :lol

Re: Keaton Batman

You know, I coudl did superhero threads across the past.

1960s - Not to familiar with, but I know Batman

1970s-80s - Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Greatest American Hero

That's my childhood worth of adult entertainment there, I grew up on those shows, I used to wear a cape out on my swingset while swinging on my stomach to pretend i was flying lol, and I always had a crush on the ladies; Julie Newmar as Catwoman, Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman, and yet I was only 5 at the time, guess I've been for the ladies a long time lol.

Maybe Vintage Superheroes is the way to go...

You know it's funny, my primary collecting property is Star Wars, yet the most fun conversations I have and most interesting collectibles I own come from places like this, I love the SSF boards :)

Re: Keaton Batman

Hey Paul, your collection is amazing... Have you posted pics or you collection isplay anywhere... I'd love to see the room you Marvel at everything in??? Can't wait to see that Batmobile...
:eek

Re: Keaton Batman

That...Batmobile...setup....:monkey5

Paul, where'd you learn this "Preview" tease bit, Sideshow or something?

Thanks guys. I may start a new thread for this stuff. Gruff, I work in the biz so Sideshow learns from us. :lol

Don't have a giant display room like Reinhardt so I rotate displays. This thing is so huge (over 29 inches long) I have to set up a stage on a table. I'm super busy right now with work but I'll definitely snap some more pics soon, until then here's another teaser (if you look real close you can see the Joker on the Batscreen by Robin's left hand and a pic of Julie Newmar as Catwoman on the Photoscope dash) and one pic for scale... yes, that is a dime. :D
