Re: Keaton Batman

Niiiiccccceeeee!!! All I can think now is about Dane Cook's bit about the Kool-Aid man haha.

It's funny, I actually walked out of my house to go to work this morning thinking about this figure; I am getting so eager to photograph it, I was watching the movie last night and kept thinking I want to do that, that, that..and Shawn's point is well proven in the opening; other than the closeup shot as Batman ropes in the criminal with the Batarang, you never see the whites of Wayne's eyes at all, the face paint, lighting, suit, and Keaton's gesturing all hide it and you only see black, kinda creepy, but also cool.

I really look forward to your pics MaulFan. And keep watching that movie, you see his eyes several times believe it or not.:D

Oh I know you do throughout the film, I just meant that one first scene really exemplifies the practice of hiding the eyes. I actually find some of the best shots in the film show his eyes, like when he suits up before taking down Axis and he's in shadow and just as the cybals clash in Elfman's music, spotlighting reveals Keaton's determined eyes. You can probably guess, I'll be replicating this shot cuz I like it so much :)

You are correct sir. That's a great scene to replicate too.

Ya, that and the final shot of him overlooking the Batsignal are my favorite still images from the whole film. Some moments look nice as the film is going, but if you pause them, some impact is lost.

GB, Creech, either of you get any shipping info from Shawn, I haven't heard anything, but with Group 3 being invoiced, I would imagine 2 should be shipping soon.

Re: Keaton Batman

No news here... I thought they were supposed to be shipping the end of last week. But I'm not 100% on that.

That was the word, it sounded like all 3 were ready but for the heads because of the improved sculpt, and once those were done they'd be ready. He's really going to the distance with these though, so I don't want to email him about it this early, I can be patient, but email systems have issues so I wanted to see if it was just me or not. If we don't hear by this Friday I'll make some inquiry. Like I said, if 2 wasn't just about to go out the door, I can't imagine invoicing the next batch. Shawn rocks :rock, I'm just eager to finally see and shoot this thing, it looks so great, especially since we've yet to see the newest head on a body.

Re: Keaton Batman

I totally agree with you MF. Not worried about the time since I know its gonna rock... but I sure do wish I had him now :lol

Finally picked-up the Batman 2 disc set today, just about to watch it in antcipation :rock

Re: Keaton Batman

I can't wait to see the new sculpt on a body. It's amazing how much better it looks, as if it really needed it in the first place. But it's crazy how the neck bulkiness helps.

Re: Keaton Batman

Nope, no word on it being shipped. I try to email Shawn as little as possible. I will just wait till it arrives, along with his Pirate. :arr A double dose of Shawn love. Oh yeah. :blissy

Re: Keaton Batman

Just finished watching Batman again... jeez its sometimes easy to forget how kickass that movie is :rock And the special edition looks so nice a clean compared to the old DVD I had.

And you can really tell watching the movie how great Shawn's Batman is!

Now to watch the special features!!!

The features are as good as the movie, very enlightening. I have to say, it's impressive to the crew too, how well the effects and all work out, there aren't really moments where you go oh that's poor special effects or anything like that, nearly 20 years later and it still looks like a film that could hold it's own today. I think everything worked right for it, the humor, the drama, the acting, the designs, just a lot of entertaining qualities, some of which I think got lost in Returns and definitely for Forever and B&R.
