In his smodcast he said he only uses it for short flights like Vegas and San Francisco. He also said he usually purchases two seats anyway because he wants the space and can afford it.

Gotcha. He was able to fit in the seat and they still had issues. Someone must have not liked Zack and Miri.

About 32 minutes in when he talks about making eye contact with another fat passenger.:rotfl Just classic.

I love Southwest webpage.......

https://www.southwest.com/

"Luvin' You is what we do"! :lol

The armrests on the plane are 17" apart. That seems kinda small. I'll have to find a measuring tape and measure my computer chair.

yes but he makes a decent amount of money, so why be so cheap? And I hear about alot of Celebrities using it.
lol...this is how most rich people stay that way. By being cheap.

I tried listening to his smodcast...but it was too damn long. The guy rambles on and on and gets sidetracked. Wish he could have condensed his story to maybe 20-30 minutes...then I would have listened to it all.

I used to listen to Smodcast every week, but got bored with this problem of his. This happens in every episode, and often ends up wasting 15-20 minutes of the time.

I'm a fat guy, but I don't fly (and even if I did I could go first class) so no problems here.

BUT...

According to ABC news the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance is calling for a boycott of Southwest.

As a fat guy, I would personally like to punch everyone involved in the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance group right in the fatty throat just for coming up with that super douche group name.

Well....I listened to the Smodcast...and I can relate to some of his points.

I gotta a story that is sorta embarrassing for me, but I decided to share it with you guys anywayz...

This past November I was on a flight towards NYC (on coach obviously cuz I'm broke :lol)...anywayz.... there was this younger, skinny, nerdy kid, that sat next to me....he was figgiting the whole way there....but I didn't make anything of it cuz I just thought that was a twitch or something....
When the plane landed and I was on my way to baggage claim....the kid comes up to me and start to chit chat about the flight and all that jazz.

All of a sudden where both at baggage claim and he asked me something completely out of he blue! He asked me:

"Are you happy with your weight?"

I was like...."Excuse me?"

He went on to ask me why I was so fat and all other kinds of stuff about my diet and work-out plan! His tone seemed sarcastic, as if it was a sophisticated way of making fun of me.

I got so mad (some of you that know me personally know that my temper isn't something you wanna mess with)....SO....I let rage over take me! I called him things that I didn't even know I was capable of saying. I dropped the F Bomb like a thousand times.

The dude was looking at me like he didn't expect that reaction. At one point, one of the guards (or airport workers) was looking at us in defense mode ready to break me apart from him.
The dude just took off after that.

I think I was so mad cuz 1.That's f_king rude, 2. That's none of his business, 3. I felt humiliated.

I know I'm overweight, and the people in the fitness thread can confirm that I'm working on getting fit, but like Kevin Smith saids "I'm not that overweight"....and I fit in an airplane seat perfectly.

I just think that this dude that was making fun of me just doesn't like fat people in general. Which unfortunately, I have to understand, but that doesn't give him the right to make fun of them, u know?

Everyone has a reason why they are overweight, some reasons are good, some reasons are bad, some reasons are even medical. So I don't think it's right to judge them. So I just wanted to share this experience with you guys cuz I know some of you here are great people and maybe will understand how hard it is to live in this "Skinny World" (like Kevin saids).

In conclusion, I just wanted to say F U Southwest and F U nerdy kid!

Don't you just love those people who feel the need to say something personal to you like you're not self aware of your own body.
People like that rarely have that many friends, so at the end of the day they're the real losers in life

...I have never understood people who are seriously FAT getting upset when they get told they won't fit into a seat. If you don't fit then what is the airline supposed to do about it?

yeah no offense intended on my part either, it's just a fact of life and in some instances it's REALLY quite obvious when or if they should have two seats instead of one...

Airline seating is the smallest of any transportation mode or media outlet. If perhaps the airlines had adequate seating space, this wouldn't be such an issue...

Soon enough, in a generation or so, the fat people will out number the skinny ones in America and things like seat size will change or the fat will rise up and overthrow the skinny, Planet of the Apes style.
