It's been a while since I've visited this thread, but I have to say that, with a few simple mods, the Doublicious actually sounds pretty good.

I read that you can order it with a grilled chicken breast, replace the gross sauce with honey mustard bbq sauce, and leave off the bacon. That would bring it down to around 300 calories, and less than 10g of fat. And I love Hawaiian sweet bread, so that really sounds good to me.

I might have to give this one a try. :D

This does not sound like a good substitute. The original is unbeatable. :yess:

Sigh. I guess there is still no tolerance in this thread for differing opinions, even when they are offered with courtesy and respect.:dunno

Thread goes back to ignore, the only place it deserves to be (along with the hideousness that is the double down "sandwich" which, thankfully, sounds like it is on its way to oblivion).

I appreciated your comment, RoboDad! :duff

Tsk tsk Robodad... You can hide from the DoubleDown... but it will find you eventually. lol

I dont see why you hate it so much. Is the No bread thing hard to understand? :lol

:wave Bye Robodad.

The Double Down. My 2nd favorite fast food item that has gone RIP. Wish Taco Bell would bring back the Black Jack Tacos....

yeah the Black Jack Taco was good.... But wasnt the only difference between it and the reg crunchy taco was the taco shell was black?

One of my Local taco bell is over priced. The 5 layer beef burrito is supposed to be $0.89 but they charge $1.09. *******s.

Fast Foods that Need to Return:

Wendys - Their Original salads (the new ones are YUCK), including the Southwest Caeser and their baked potatoes

McD's - Grilled Chicken Flatbread Sandwich, Asian Salad, and a salad that I can't remember it's name, but it had ground beef in it. Kinda like a taco salad without the shell.

Arbys - Onion Petals and their munchie sampler

KFC - Their original Cold Slaw and corn bread

Taco Bell - Taco Lite (puffy white shells). Beefy Tostada, Enchirito

Burger King - they need to bring back their old fries

The Black Jack taco had a pepperjack sauce and 3 kinds of cheese on it.

I did get it fresh, thought thats why it was so nasty, grease was dripping off it and the cheese was everywhere

-__- I have no response to that. -__-

My KFC replaced the Double Down with the Doublicious...:(

Yeah, they replaced the Double Down with its cousin.

That means they can still make a double down. If they say no, order a Doublicious, ask for it with no bun, and an extra chicken fillet. Presto! Double Down! :Wizard

Now that I think of it, when I had my awesome Extra Crispy DD experience, I remember not seeing the DD on the menu. I asked "Do you still have the Double Down." They answered in the affirmative (and you know the rest of the story).

Lot's of resturaunts have stuff like that. They can make it if you know about it, but it's not on the visible menu.

Yeah, they replaced the Double Down with its cousin.

And it is that cousin that nobody admits to having.

Amen to these! And I would add KFC's Kentucky Nuggets. They had it all over the bland nuggets that McDonald's sells.

Of course, the dark meat nuggets that McD's used to have were OK.

Not really. I just remember things when I like them, usually. :lol

Now I know why you never remember me. :(

hahaha True.

When I asked for extra crispy, they told me they weren't allowed to serve anything that wasn't on the menu.

KFC zombies... :emperor
