When I asked for extra crispy, they told me they weren't allowed to serve anything that wasn't on the menu.

KFC zombies... :emperor

That's lame. :monkey4

I feel that today is a Double Down day. It's been at least a month. I hope the same crew is working today! :rock

On the subject of fast food that needs to return - Remember "The Insider" from Pizza Hut?

It was like stuffed crust, but throughout the entire crust bottom. Sooooo delicious. :drool

Any way, Just got to work. Eat my DD on the way. Ordered fresh as always, so it was delightful. But there were some older scary looking manager types there today so I chickened out (no pun intended) on ordering Extra Crispy.

Man, now that I saw this thread again, I want a double down. I haven't had one in a long while. I'll have to consider it for a night soon.

I officially dub the KFC Double Down as the Sideshow Freaks' Forums official sandwich.

They are still going strong at my local KFC.

I'm ashamed to admit that I still have only ever had one. That damn KFC down the street still hasn't opened! :thud:

On a side note:

Angry KFC franchise owners are suing the company over its recent push toward healthier grilled recipes, citing the move for a 6 percent drop in sales last year.

"To only advertise grilled chicken in a fried chicken brand, I'm sure the colonel wouldn't be happy with that," said franchise owner William Eubanks.

A spokesperson for KFC said the fast-food chain is just trying to give customers what they want. He urged franchise owners to be patient, saying sales results after a change take time.

Consumers that ABC 27 spoke with agreed it's not the restaurant's responsibility to feed the public, but it is their responsibility to let the public know what's in the food being served.

"If they offer grilled options -- fruits and vegetables and even yogurt parfaits -- that will help them address their issues with heart disease, diabetes, etc.," said Patti Carey, a dietitian with Summit Health.

"I don't think we're going to go back to the days when Mom is cooking three meals a day," she said.

"Sniff!" (Wipes tear from eye)...congratulations Badmoon! It always tugs at my heartstrings when a new KFC opens.

Or a new Golden Corral like the one opening just down the road from me. "Sniff!"
