I am visiting Hong Kong for x'mas and decided to go to the King Arts retail store to check out a couple items I have on order. I have to admit, I only took a quick look (couple minutes total in the store) and decided to cancel the Arc Reactor and Wall Mount Cap shield. The Arc Reactor looked like plastic instead of metal, I can see it few feet away as soon as I walked into the store. As for the shield, it looks ok, but the wall mount looked very cheap, no where near the official product screen shots, it looked like plastic instead of wood. I would go for the pedestal version if I really want it. But these items just aren't exciting/nice enough for me to start collecting new line.
Thanks for the report, but please tell us you took pics.

Not the arc reactor, but took a few of the wall mount.

Thanks for posting your input, nice to know I'll have little to no regrets cancelling.

Thanks for the pics. The choice of a brown frame in that setup is baffling to me. I have the wall mounted shields on PO so I'll continue to watch for pics as KA reported receiving their shipment of wall mounted regulars today.

do you know if the wall mount version still has LED's? The brown doesn't look horrible to me, but it defn doesn't look as good as the proto. The shield itself looks great to me.

Did you get HANDS ON with the shield to confirm weight. material and feel?

The shield looks awesome. The frame and case not so much. Wonder how heavy and solid the shield feels. Will likely cancel just due to too many things in 1st quarter, but by the end of the year I'll want a good shield to display.

Thanks for the report, I was considering their arc reactor but hesitant bc of the high price, this makes it an easy pass. May just go with the much cheaper plastic Toy Legends piece if I really want an arc reactor to display.

Wow. Just saw these pictures at an Asian website. Apparently its from the shields that were shipped (actual product right there).

Wow... that looks way better than I was expecting!
If EFX doesn't get off their asses pretty soon, I see a bunch of people going for this one instead.

Wonder why the wall mounted piece is high-chrome/metallic and this one looks natural?
The back and the straps looks really nicely done, too.

I just lucked out, someone cancelled on BBTS... so I just PO'd this pedestal one!!!
It just looks too good to pass up. Plus, the blue and red look a lot nicer than the EFX one.

Could be just me, but does anyone else think their shield looks a lil off? The star is too small, the red paint is a bit too dark, and the circle lines in the back of shield are too thick. Otherwise this turned out better than their shiny prototype. I'd still pick the eFX shield... if someone actually gets around to unloading their container :lol Three reasons - eFX is cheaper, their screen lineage pays off as it looks more accurate than King Arts, and King Arts' main advantage was being a metal shield, yet the final product doesn't quite have the shine of a metal shield; honestly if someone told me the KA shield was fiberglass, from looking at those pics I'd believe them.

Below is a hero shield from TFA which was the only Cap movie where they used a metal shield extensively. That's the kind of finish the KA shield should have, but unfortunately falls somewhat short. For $700, it should look a whole level better than eFX but it's not.

Ultimately people want a shield that looks and feels good (weight/heft). It's a basic design with leeway for a small margin of error. Shiny and glossy reflective is not the way to go. This has to appeal to movie fans and I am sure they want some of the comics fans as well.

I agree that this new "actual" product doesn't look like metal, as it did before. I think the gloss actually made it look more metallic, just like the real shield. So, the ppl that were hating the gloss, yet wanted a metallic shield.....it doesn't look like one now, so not sure how much of a difference the material makes. I didn't realize that the eFX would be over $100 cheaper for me, so I jumped back on the PO for that one.

The prototype was TOO glossy, they went wild with the paint app there. For this latest version, I think it comes down to the metal used. From KA's photo of its shield blanks, it looks like the correct brushed aluminum, but the silver rings in the last set of photos of the finished product don't look the same as that shield blank, perhaps they applied too matte of a finish. The paint has the right gloss though. Honestly I'm not sure what kind of metal KA used or if they even just used a metal coating over a resin or fiberglass blank, but for $700 and being manufactured in China, I would hope KA is giving you guys an aluminum shield.

Yep. Just look at the custom aluminum shields folks have gotten. They look fantastic and have that wonderful metallic sheen without doubling as a mirror. For the price they should have been aluminum.
