Yeah.. But it was not for as Long.. And since this Kong was so much bigger its like protecting a fly in the palm of your hand and like I said, it was much more brief.. In PJ's Kong he held her for so long in his hand and feet and tossed and shook her so much her neck should have broke :lol.. It was about as bad as surviving the Dino stampede. It was like Jackson was channeling his inner Roland Emmerich :lol

Yeah I can agree with that.

I've narrowed it down to just that one major problem, no worthy opponent.

Oh well, I usually watch movies I don't like 3 times just to make sure lol.

He will be a much better man then you :lol

Isn't that what we all strive for with our kids :lol

I do love it when he goes to his older cousins house and they tell him they're not allowed to watch monster movies and my son is like...what, Kong and Godzilla are so awesome and X23 cut a guys head off lol.

Yes it is!

:lol

Yeah.. My kids are the same way... Their cousins come over and my kids want to watch ALIEN or Predator but their parents always say no because they are afraid of it scaring their kids...

I brought my boys up knowing it's all FX and they love watching the making of movies.

I was also carful to make sure they appreciated Ray Harryhausen and Eiji Tsuburaya before they ever saw films like Jurassic Park... My oldest still prefers suitmation and stop motion to CGI.. Makes a father proud :lol

He also said Gorosaurus should have been the main bad guy in Skull Island.. Can't disagree. :)

Now that's a proper education. :lol

:lol

Well... there it is.

You better be saying it like Goldblum. :lol

Maybe Jye will have a change of heart like TFA :lol

The ole' reversal. :lol

It wasn't the best movie ever but it IS a cool creatures feature ride.
The monster action was pretty good. Heck, the final fight is the best kaiju action I've ever seen.
Loved all montages, they felt right which is rare in modern cinema.
Kong wasn't overdone like in the PJ's film.
Most of it looked great in IMAX3D.

. . .

I actually felt like the animators on Godzilla 2014 captured the feel of a man in suit with a lot of the creature movements. I'm curious to see how I feel about Kong in this regard, I'm actually a little surprised Kong used ILM for CGI instead of MPC who at least were responsible for Godzilla and the MUTOs.
The animation for this Kong felt heavily inspired by 1976 suitmation.
It was pretty damn awesome, bipedal Kong is da best!

Saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it.
The 70's setting is great (also lends itself to some great music), I liked the cast a lot (even good ole' Samuel was fun in his deranged soldier part), and the action was fantastic.
It was just an all-round fun movie experience. I wonder if they'll make more movies with Hiddleston and Larson set in the 70's?

Serviceable, plot. I went in expecting a classic, B-level creature feature with AAA effects and that's what I got. Slow at some points, characters weren't particularly fun besides John C. Reilly (and thank God for that; he held the human element together and I thought he'd be the worst part), but it was fun to see on the big screen. The movie knew what it was and did what it needed to do for me.

Having that said, I am hoping that they pump in better writing as more of these things come out. Apparently Kong vs. Godzilla will have a team of writers.

My biggest issues with this flick are:
1) a bit too much human characters overall;
2) most of them are underdeveloped;
3) some of them are misused.

Packard could use a bit more background to add more sense to his motivation. He'd felt less cheesy that way.

Chapman felt like second in command and the soul of the escort group, yet after their "landing" he was used only as the we-have-to-get-there plot device. What a waste of potencially good character and an awesome actor. Speakin' of, not havin' Toby Kebbell interactin' with Kong is a huge misoportunity.

I felt like Randa was an important character who had to survive, yet they killed him off in a very unsatisfied manner. Him survivin' the whole thing could add a lot to the gravitas. Goodman was also kinda wasted in this role...

Conrad... I don't know why he's in this flick. Introduced as a loner bad ass who'd be a hero, he did almost nothing interesting or memorable. Hiddleston is a complete miscast but I didn't really care for the above reasons.

I wish someone would explain to me how Sam Jackson picks up roles like these? I swear movie companies just come to him with 8 different scripts and a bucket of cash just to throw him on the big screen. His role in this movie was cringeworthy
