The UPS delivery guy noted that it was a severely damaged box so I was really worried that it would have to go back to Fireside Bob.
yeah, mine was beat all to hell too. and mine had a couple small chips in the fur also, but you could only find them after close inspection. so Im not going thru the trouble of shipping him back.

AMAZING piece!! :banana

OMG, what an absolute stunning piece.. I might just have to bite the bullet and get it!!

Fellas, what are the dimensions of the base?

Thanks!!
Dave

The base dims are 10" x 17" but the V-Rex hangs off the back so you'll need
at least 12" of shelf depth for it, and 14" to 16" would be even better.

To anybody on the fence - You WON'T be sorry getting this statue.
It is HUGE, and it looks absolutely, positively fantastic!

At $350 or even $400 this is a steal (to me).
Buy now - think later!

JS :)

He looks pretty good next to Sauron. Great looking piece just not sure where money will play at. Weta nailed another one but I still don't feel it's better than many of the LOTR pieces.

It is though Josh - easily as good or better than some/many LOTR pieces.
It definitely holds up well with the Cave Troll, and if it had an edition size
of 750 or less I belive people would be much more excited about it, and
you wouldn't be finding it for $350 any more at this point.

Kong is as big as Cavey, and then you get an extra Dino ta boot! :google

No matter what the edition size, this statue KICKS @$$!

JS's humble opinion: This one is a no-brainer! :duh :duh

JS ;) :peace :D

I agree it's better than several not all but several. It's very awesome and I thought so when I saw it at SDCC. It along with the Predator Maquette where the two pieces Non-LOTR that really made an impact on me.

I agree the ES does have some people on the fence with this one. That's not my reason but I expect for many it is.

Yup, I remember it being huge and your right the ES doesn't matter this piece kicks ass.

Got mine too. It's impressive. More so than I thought it'd be. I'm really impressed with the mounting pins. Heavy duty indeed. I haven't decided if I like the Kong plaque on the front though. It has that Danbury feel. I mean really isn't it obviously Kong?

The sculpt and paint are great. I don't think Weta laser scanned Naomi's face for this one, but it's not bad. Not bad at all.

That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks !!!!

HAHAHA. Good one! Anyone who's seen this in person will know what he's talking about. I actually wish they would have left Ann out of the piece altogether, and had Kong's hand be a fist instead. The way that Ann looks is really my only gripe with this piece. It's nearly perfect!

The paint apps on the T-Rex's scales and Kong's fur are REALLY good. The T-Rex's eyes and mouth are also very well done.

This piece is an absolute steal at $350.

Finally got mine unboxed and displayed and its bloody awesome! :banana
the best piece I have EVER received bar non. WETA did a fantastic job on this. Pity Anne's arm had detached itself. Ive got a new one, inspected by weta on the way but right now Im just enjoying admiring this piece from every angle. Just brilliant. :joy
