Well Freaks. I deleted my game data. Not save data. And re started the game and it installed the game data again. Guess it worked because my game hasn't froze or glitched or lagged since. I recommend doing this if you have experienced the problems I had

Played the first main mission (2nd female found naked) and got a 1 star!!!! argh, convinced I had done well in the questioning too......guess not

Good luck Mr Ecko, that sucks

Hopefully to get started on this game as I just got it today.

Really interested in the story.

it's not much so far in my opinion, and i'm on disk 3. it's mostly case by case. it is pretty good though. you have to take your time and think. it's easy to screw up an interrogation, and if you do that just a couple times then it screws up the whole investigation. and you can't get correct responses from other suspects if you didn't get the correct info before.

Yeah, I was told something about that today when buying the game.

Is it kinda like a multiple choice / scenarios you have to choose wisely?

I guess that's the fun of the game more so an investigation game rather than Rockstairs typical all action / guns blazing type games.

SPOILER ALERT

I've always loved the CSI Games even though they were easy and often bland, but this is a dream come true. Case solving in the 1940s, a cool character with a hat like Cole, a nice partner and a crooked partner, nice murders, the naked women with messages based on the 2006 Black Dahlia film (being a favorite of mine) is really interesting. I'm not so far in the game, but I do hope to see an Edward Gein-like case and a crooked cop case.

I've noticed, being in the case with green dress white shoe women, that all women are married, all men have a size 8 in shoes and it seems too simple. It feels like they're being framed.

Overall, even though it has bugs, I think this is one of my favorite games. Nice, detailed cases, detailed evidence, a real thinking game, questioning is fun, chases are fun and dialogue is exceptionally nice with a nice mix of drama and humor.

For those with the PS3, any idea what the 10 mb update was for? said DLC, but nothing seems different......

I'm not positive on this but I think there were overheating issues and they released a patch for that, but I'm not sure if that is said patch.

Noteworthy changes and fixes include:

Fixes for several in-game store issues including age-verification for DLC purchases
Fixes for minor gameplay bugs and graphical issues
Fixes for several minor plot/objective/conversation issues
Improvements in stat-tracking and Social-Club integration

well, it is good. there is the crooked cop stuff. naked women murders, to many l thought, but you will find out why. there is no Gein type cases, not that l have seen and l am almost done. you say some cases feel like the people are being framed, well you are getting worm.:lol.

l like it. l am on the arson cases now. there was some parts at the end of disk 2 l did not like, and it did get dumb for a couple hours, but it is better now. the story is now unfolding and slowly being tied together and crooked government and cops are starting to play a roll. so far l haven't encountered one bug.

Thanks, guys!!! I was surprised to get the update as PSN is not fully functional, but glad to see stuff like this is up and running

Cant wait for the 24th to download the DLC missions

Spoiler.

Damn, guess Phelps wasn't as white as everyone thought. I figured as much.

Last two days i keep looking at this game in stores but, i feel i am taking a big risk if i purchase it with a recently bought PS3 with no in store warranty attached to it.

Honestly im just not that into it. It isn't that immersive of an experience in the way that RDR was.
Cole is way too boring to really connect with. He is too much of a boyscout with such a bland personality. And since there is apsolutly nothing to do besides the cases and a few dozen street crimes, we only see him in a strictly professional context and therefore have a hard time connecting to him personally. All the other characters have this same problem.
The city itself is also kind of boring. Sure it is large and detailed, but for the most part it all looks exactly alike and there really isn't anything to do in it. No terribly interesting locations.

Finished the game tonight, overall i thought it was a great game. There are some redundancies in gameplay and its not quite as immersive as read dead but the game felt different to me. It is one of those things that comes along and really tries something different and i think that it does a lot successfully. Now some more spoiler heavy stuff!!
The cases were very interesting and i found myself trying to guess who had done it and at the end of the homicide portion i was actually right. I figured it had something to do with a bar guy from the company. The ending itself was a bit too out there for my taste with the flame thrower guy and honestly the main character in video games dying is getting over used, its to the point i was expecting it at the end of l.a. noire. But overall i loved the game.
