This and Red Dead are awesome. Most owns IMO.

Completed the story mode and the street crimes. Still have to find about 35 cars and all 50 reels. Plus any DLC cases (one of which there's an achievement for that I can't get yet) along with replaying cases to get 5 stars on all of them. This game has plenty of replay value left plus I'm sure there's going to be multiple DLC coming out.

This is closer to a $15.95 Gamefly rental than a $60.00 purchase new imo.
Unless youre obsessive about seeing, doing and collecting everything which I'm not. Still all those things can be done within a weeks rental if one is so inclined.
The only games worth a new outright buy anymore have to have a good multiplayer component along with a solid campaign.
(The Elderscrolls not withstanding.)

Can't say I agree. I have no regrets buying Red Dead which has a solid and fun as hell MP. Wish LA had some but the game I think like the GTA stuff will continue to get solid DLC for quite some time so no regrets buying either game. Plus I like having the chance to take my time going and getting everything. Renting a game for $15 seems like a waste to me personally. To each his own though.

The truth/doubt/lie thing is starting to bug me. Sometimes its really hard to tell. A lot of the time they look truthful or tell you something that someone else told you and when you select truth it is wrong. Or you doubt and piss them off and are wrong. Really confusing how this works.

Sometimes it is a guess even with all the clues. They all dont have physical tells.
But I suppose thats true to life as some people are good bald face liars.

I am loving this game myself. Sure, wish it had the GTA 'extras' but am pretty happy with it.

Just made it to vice, and am 49% thru the game. Have yet to find one 'hidden' film and about 6 of the 13 newspapers.

Haven't started on the films yet either. The newspapers come along as you do cases. Not hard at all to finish those.

Damn Josh!?!?!?!? How long did it take for you to finish the game? What do you have clocked in?

what l found that really helped was if you weren't sure is to always call them a lier. that way you then here more dialoge. and the suspect will flat out say what evidence l need. if you dont have that evidence then cancel the lie action and just dought his statement, works all the time. even if l dont think he is lieing accusing him will help me make a decision.

I'm liking this game for the most part. I think I'm about half way through it now. I don't really care for most of the side stuff but I really like street crimes that involve foot and car chases. The car chases especially because I always try to avoid hitting anything (unlike in GTA). It can be quite exciting. Those and the main story are driving me forward. The sight-seeing and hidden cars I can take or leave it.

It was a bit iffy for a while though. There's a long stretch where there are seemingly endless murder cases involving women and similar kill patterns. I'm sure it all fits into a larger narrative, but man, 4 of these cases back-to-back were really wearing me down. :lol

I'm having no trouble with the interrogations. I can't see why it's difficult for some to differentiate between times to use 'doubt' or 'lie', although there are the few occasions where I thought I had gotten it right only to be bewildered by what the game thinks is the correct choice.

I agree....I've also gone back and redone missions to get the 5 star rating.......so far, this is as close to L.A. Confidential as a game has gotten. Glad I hear work has begun on 2. Ya know that they will make lots of changes as this was their first attempt

I accidentally found one when I misinterpreted a clue and went to the wrong location in the last homicide case.:lol

I tried to towards the end but decided I'd just wait.

So I went ahead and bought this today...... I'm not much of a gamer, and I rarely play video games. But I'm hooked on this one. It's simply fantastic! Love it

Almost finished LA Noire, 18 hours in... I love this game so much, its so unique in its own way :D I'd love to see a LA Noire 2 and 3!
