And if a fly comes buzzing round your head do you go to swat it? If a wasp or bee is circling you, do you swat it away?

All three are a complete annoyance/threat, no matter how inferior they are, I still swat them away.
Human's are different - we have very low tolerance level for anything, ever seen how a croc behaves with all the little animals and insects that swarm or even spend hours on him? He doesnt bother with that. Plus they have scales for a reason. THICK Ones. One of the reasons they arent so sensitive to external stimuli.

The film ultimately became a monster versus monster movie once the Muto's had been introduced and only delivered on the versus aspect in the last 20 minutes (a very good last 20 minutes at that). I know some people didn't like it but this is where Pacific Rim delivered. Pacific Rim didn't take itself too seriously and embraced it's cheesiness and delivered on the versus aspect from the very opening scene. I could understand that if this was just a film about Godzilla himself, then keeping him a mystery throughout the film would have made sense. But as soon as the first Muto turned up they may as well have just thrown in some more Kaiju's and have Godzilla fight them and lay waste to every city on the West Coast in the process.

And I am not sure a comparison can be made of a fly sitting on a croc and taking a thousand bullets a minute.

So is this shot replaced by the quick glimpse of Godzilla and muto fighting?

Just go see it :lol

Yeah take the examples scales of a million year old super beast who fed on radiation and whom multiple nuclear bombs couldnt really kill.

Those bullets are impervious to him. A full cannon of a tank blasting into him at point blank range didnt make him flinch! The only time he flinched was when some tomahawks fell near his face. All he did was then swat whatever was near him on that bridge and he ended up pulling half of it apart. Im sure you saw how an anti aircraft gun shot one of his back fins from like 5 feet away and it didnt even shake that damn fin!!

And ever since after that initial freak confrontation on the bridge the military gave him a wide berth. He was pretty much unperturbed and undisturbed the whole way to fight the MUTOs

Impervious or not, he certainly seemed perturbed at the Golden Gate Bridge when they launched an attack upon him.

that's crazy

It's not like previous Godzilla movies set the bar very high. :lol In all seriousness, this feels like the first film in the franchise to really push the envelope since the original. I would've said G84, but I'm honestly not that big a fan of that one despite its frequently agreed-upon merits.
The original is really the one to beat for me and I can't personally think of any other film that can hold up against it. Hope the Legendary Godzilla becomes a franchise of its own. I'd love to see where they take the character (and maybe reintroduce some classic Toho friends too!).

who was the one asking about Godzilla talking? :lol:lol

Case in point. I still love it, but... case in point.

I can see this becoming my 2nd most favorite Godzilla move overall. As much as I love '84, there are flaws in it as a movie that my love for the suit can't overcome when I really love this 2014 Godzilla design and the movie looks to have less bothersome flaws.

I too, thought that there wasn't much Godzilla in the film. I thought maybe I was expecting more. That being said, when he was on screen he was awesome.

I enjoyed the human story. Elizabeth Olsen is my favorite actress right now and I really enjoyed her role. I also really like Aaron Taylor Johnson and Bryan Cranston and thought they all did great.

I might be easier to please than some with acting, but just seeing an image of Olsen like this, I feel like even if her dialogue isn't quite there, her face can carry so much, I look at this expression and I can just feel the weight of everything in her eyes, she doesn't even look acting, she looks genuine.

You should check out her other films, she is a great actress. She is brilliant in Martha Marcy May Marlene and Silent House was filmed all in one take (and she rocks)

I absolutely love this Godzilla design, so I would be pretty interested in that SSC Maquette.
