You have time to work on that [admittedly awesome] piece of art, but you can't sneak out for a couple hours and see the movie?

It's not a matter of having time to go out, I've got plenty of time, it's that my wife wouldn't be able to sit in the theater between the pregnancy and her anxieties, and I wouldn't be able to go without her and enjoy myself, I'd be checking my phone constantly for a message from her if something happened. Right now the best place for us both to be is home together as much as possible, her due date is next Thursday so it's really any day now.

Did anyone else think that Muto's golden brown wings had that rubbery sheen look from Ghidorah's wing.

Imagine if Ghidorah in this version is a 3 headed Muto. :lol

I'm glad Godzilla's foes in this film were such an extreme looking creation with the bioluminescence and the glowing eyes and multiple limbs, etc., because it opens the door to throwing a past creature like King Ghidorah into the world and having it work.

When we had no clue what the mutos looked like, I expected we'd only ever see foes that are derived from creatures that have or do exist in the world like Anguirus, Rodan, Mothra, Megaguirus, Megalon and Ebirah, even Gigan could be altered to more insect looking to fit with that whole realism thing they aimed for. At this point though, I think any past foe, excluding Mechagodzilla, could be worked in.

Don't forget KUMONGA!

So a friend went with a couple mates and watched it, being a G fan himself I got this message:
**** lost all over the place man

Hope for a Monster Island sequel and Destroy All Monsters to finish up a trilogy. Maybe make it 4 movies and end it with Destroyah.

Remember last week how some people were saying the acting in Godzilla would blew the one on Pacific Rim out of the water?... :lol:lol:lol
Yeah, I guess it didn't...

It might not have blown it out of the water but it was better.

I hope they pay Cranston lots of money to come back as a Gargantuan. :lol

The Muto's were a combination of Rodan-Mothra.

Rodan because it flew and had a pointy head.
Mothra because it had her small arms on her chest-abdomen.

I hope the studio is brave and gives us all the monsters exactly how they look, only with cgi.

I doubt any monster will ever be a straight up render of the movie incarnation except maybe Mothra, everything else will be given skin and such to make it more real looking.

I imagine a Legendary Ghidorah would look very menacing.

The thing is, the way they set up Godzilla and Muto makes it easy to bring in several of Godzillas friends/foes. Mothra? Kumonga? Kamacuras? easy, giant prehistoric insect. Anguirus? Baragon? Prehistoric beast. Muto is pretty out there as far as believability with his EMP powers and glowing eyes, so others should be pretty simple to bring about

I'm not saying they can't be used, by all means, at this point, anyone's fair game. but JYE was saying take the exact Toho design and just render it in CGI punching up areas with enhanced texture and such, and I just don't see strait representations coming, they redesigned Godzilla, I could see the same approach with his rogues gallery. "Imagine if this were a real creature and someone at Toho saw it and ran back to design a costume of it."

If Legendary uses Ghidorah, they're going to have to deliver such an amazing performance from it like Heath Ledger did as Joker to get people to embrace such a radical rendition of a character they know and love.

I saw the film last night and enjoyed it. I haven't read any of this thread so I don't know what's being commented on but two things really bugged me; he has no feet. How the hell does anything walk with no feet? I knew of the leg stumps with all of the toys being released but it never occurred to me until I was watching the film. How does he walk on two legs without feet and extended toes to balance himself. I'm stumped!

He doesn't have feet? Is this true? That's bizarre.

He doesn't have traditional Godzilla feet, his toes barely come out of his legs compared to past designs.

If you look at the overall design, the majority of his mass is in his legs, so he doesn't need huge feet to support himself, plus the posture of his legs, it's not like they're straight up and down, the bend would help distribute the weight, plus the tail. I have no problems with the final foot design, I was concerned when it seemed like the feet could look like this.

The overall mass and build seem much closer to this design, even the feet.

How far we've come in less than a year, I remember the first pics from SDCC coming out with these and all the excitement over what he might look like, and getting this first poster.
