I think this is the best maquette so far, even better than Aragorn. They just nailed everything. The likeness, the clothing, the pose.... can't wait to get this.

Just got this e-mail:

Dear Collector,

We wanted to take this opportunity to e-mail you about your wait list reservation for your Legolas Exclusive Statue (item#2000851). At this time we have not had any cancelations for this item; therefore, we will be CLOSING this wait list shortly and canceling all collector reservations that have been submitted. Once this is completed you will receive an e-mail confirming the cancellation, until you receive this initial email, your wait list reservation will still remain active.

I don't understand why they are cancelling my wait list request two months before the product ships. They have no idea how many pieces might become available because of last minute cancellations or credit card declines, so why are they cancelling the wait list requests when the processing hasn't begun and the statue isn't shipping for several weeks? They have no idea how many preorders might not be completed, nor how many people ahead of me in the wait list line will have the funds to follow through in November.

The wait list should stay open for 30 days after the 350th credit card has been successfully charged for this item and they know they won't be getting any returns.

That's odd. Maybe this one is a lot more popular than the other exclusives. Personally I'm sticking with the regular version on this one since Legolas has to be using his bow in my display.

Tom, from that blurb, they're giving you advanced notice, but that they'll keep your wait list reservation up till they get confirmation. So, they haven't quite canceled it yet, if that's any consolation.

I hope so. I understand closing the wait list if it's getting long, but when they said they were closing the wait list AND cancelling the requests, that seemed weird.

I got the same email, very strange, I have never gotten that before

seems odd they would close the waitlist before the product actually ships - plenty of cancellations can come in between now and when it ships.

i don't know. i get those messages all the time but my WL converts anyway. usually right before shipping time. they must be automated or something.

I'm still on waitlists that are years old! I'd give them a call or email them if you're concerned.

I got the e-mail too. Very odd. And yeah i'm still on waitlists from the SSW days! And some old SSW orders are still marked as 'processing' in my account! :lol

Oh well, if true, i'll just pick the regular up for cheaper locally.

I got the same e-mail and it kind of pissed me off. You guys have a very valid point, they have no ****ing idea what they will have for returns or credit card declines.

For all we know this will be on 2nd chance just like the first two exclusives were.

The same WL cancellation email went out to those who were on the WL for the Rogue PF EX too. Then the WL orders were actually cancelled. So if SS does actually start cancelling WL order for Legolas, then it makes me wonder if there are going to be some potential QC issues with this piece? I hope not but after the Rogue fiasco, I am now concerned.

Simple solution for me. If anything from SS shows up looking like the Rogue and thinks its going to be a resident in my collection, it has another think coming. If, lets say, Legolas shows up looking like a tranny whore, he simply goes back immediately for a full refund. I guess we have to lose the shipping though, right? I've only had to follow my own advice once (on the cross-eyed, poorly constructed Ripley in Power Loader), but I seem to remember getting the shipping money back that time.

Just saying. ;) I hope he turns out great though! I want him in my maquette collection.

I think the discussion on Rogue issue certainly has an impact across all of Sideshow lines. When a quality concern issue crops up, it calls into question the quality of future products on order. I know that I have had some paint flaws and I have simply looked the other way, but the cross-eyed paint jobs need to stop. I don't have Rogue on order, but I do have every other LOTR maquette and Premium Format on queue and when I see something like Rogue, I have to worry about the quality of what I might get in the future. I don't think this is done with malice or any sort of evil intent, but I do think Sideshow needs to be made aware that when a product ships with a lesser quality, it does bring up questions for people that normally like purchasing their products.

I will be really bummed if Legolas is less than what we have seen, but no reason to speculate blindly on this yet. I just think it is fair to discuss how QA concerns have impacts beyond the single item that appears flawed.
