:lol you're not wrong. I just feel there's a lot of flat boring spots in it. I'm just saying a lot more could of been done with it. Japan as a setting worked, I just prefer they went with something closer to the Frank Miller run.

I did appreciate Logan being the best claw fighter in it by comparison to the rest of the films.

As for Origins... what's been said that hasn't already been said?

better? the wolverine made origins look like TMNT compared to citizen kane. :lol

Origins is one of the worst superhero movies of all time, that's just a fact :lol

The Wolverine was an okay movie really hindered by its third act. I have nothing but confidence this will be the best superhero movie of the year. The fact that they're already screening it for people shows their confidence in it.

It sure is shaping up that way, it still has some competition with GOTG2, WW, Spiderman, Thor, JL, etc.

It's definitely the most original of all those. Plus MCU fatigue is hitting hard. 2017 will be a rough year for them.

JL, WW, and This are my top 3 for sure.

I think the fatigue is average or less films from all contenders Fox, WB and Disney. I have little faith in any of the movies slated for the year. GoTG2 trailer was entertaining which doesn't equate to a good film. Nothing else I've seen inspire hope for anything other than what we've gotten over the past few years. I hope this one turns out to be a keeper but last years X film doesn't bode a lot of confidence.

True, but with Fox you never know what you’re going to get, there films don’t really have a certain tone, and even though the continuity is jacked, you can’t really predict what you’re going to get from them. For me, I know what I’m going to get from a MCU movie. The DCEU is only 3 movies in, and so far I’ve been very unimpressed by them, but I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to get from them yet.

I base my expectations on experience......Fox and MCU have produced decent films and turds....more the later lately but I'm still hopeful for Logan. Until DCEU gives me a good film they get zero confidence.

Well, they only showed the first 40 minutes. I doubt this film will be great...maybe good, when compared to the previous Wolvie films.

Nope. It's the same thing, just pretentiously serious and less entertaining.

Nah, that's just the apogee. Remove pretentiousness and you'll see that the whole thing is as comedic and melodramatic as most superhero movies.

My biggest issue was how they wasted the idea of Wolvie in Japan. If I remember correctly, the animated series and the 90's comics did a similar storyline, but Wolvie lived in Japan for a while, he learned from their culture, and he would mediate to find peace and work on a garden. He became Steven Seagal in the 90's :lol He learned martial arts, he embraced the Japanese language and culture. I think he had a wife too?

In the film, he spent a few weeks, learned nothing, and by the end of the film he was still the same dude.

Ha, best part of South Park this season was the member berries. Anyway this movie.............yeah what going on in the trailer again? It looked BORING!! I was hoping to see the suite and some serious blood.

I really hope they are using this movie to help soft-reboot the franchise into something more concise.

lets hope wolvie murders every xmen we've come to know except for Charles at the beginning.

I doubt it'll be great too, but I think it'll be good. The only superhero movie this year I think that has a chance at being a better movie is GOTG2.

A lot of The Wolverine's script was changed to help it fit in with the overall continuity of series and lead into DOFP. If I remember correctly, it originally was going to be another prequel that focused on most of the stuff you described and Fox was considering the R rating at the time.

Where exactly would you even put The Wolverine in the timeline of events? I gave up on that after DOFP. :lol

It's a few years after X3 I believe, and by the leads to the events of DOFP.
