I understand to a degree why people use ESB as reference that takes a series to the next level... but honestly I think ESB hasn't aged well at all and in hindsight isn't good at all aside from Boba Fett.

So, only use BTILC from now on

:lol :lol :lol

That's a bold statement , sir. I will save it.

Especially when you look at the other nominees that year, like The Reader which had a 61% on RT compared to TDK's 94'% critic approval.

Sign me as well, I can’t eat crow any worse than I did with my Fantastic Four prediction :lol

Yea, TDK was definitely snubbed.

One thing I know is certain, it will be better than Origins/Wolverine.

You have to be Suicide Squad bad to be worse than Origins.

That's a dumb statement, man. :lol
It's directed and partially written by the same "Da Wulvareen" guy.
I'd even say "it's the same kind of crap 'till proven otherwise".

That is the nicest thing Jye has had to say about this movie, I'll take it :lol

So I apologize if an answer for this is already out there, but I'm not a comic book fan so I'm not familiar with this story line. I'm just trying to figure out the premise from what I saw in the trailer.

So a slowly ageing Logan is living with a dying Professor X in a water tower. Are they the last mutants left? What killed all the other mutants so soon after Logan fixed the previous mutant apocalypse in Days of Future past? I can see how Logan would live through all this considering his powers, but why is Professor X (who was already an elderly man) the only other mutant that was able to survive?

You'll have the answer to that and more when Logan hits theaters March 3rd!

If the studio felt that Logan was oscar worthy it would've changed its release date to oscar bait season, which is not March lol.

I sense no confidence lol.

Release date's got nothing to do with it. There's been Best Picture Winners and Nominees that premiered in the summer (Gladiator, Braveheart & District 9 to name a few).

All that matters is that the film has been screened for the A.M.P.A.S. by the distributing studio before the cutoff in late November.

Rogue One for instance was not screened for the Academy (probably because Disney knew the film had ZERO chance at a Nomination so didn't bother to let the voters watch it a month early).

If FOX screened Logan for the voters in November the film may very well have a chance at a Nomination.

Fox cares more about money than awards, and I don't blame them. If the movie is good this is going to make a ton in March.

I've only read it once and I don't remember much, but IIRC there's no Proff X in the comic and no X23.

Logan lives with his family, in a farm, all mutants are dead because a thing happened, and he himself killed a bunch of mutants in the school, not only that, IM and Cap and most superheroes are also dead.

Arrowguy is blind or something? Spiderwoman is evil, Hulk has an inbred family that kills Logan's family which is what sets him on a path of revenge.

Movie doesn't look anything like the comic. It's a good thing I don't remember much if you ever want to read it, I remember I liked it when I was younger and it's very accessible for non-comic readers.
