Just finished watching this on 4K.

Still a 10/10. Bravo, Jim Mangold and FOX. Bravo.

Agreed. Thanks for sharing that. It's nice to know there are still intelligent and articulate people out there, and not just the mindless throngs looking for mindless entertainment.

Although I didn't love this movie like everyone else, I did pick it up anyways because I'm such a big fan of the X-Men films. I did find myself enjoying this more on my second viewing after my extreme expectation for this movie had diminished. Its still not my favorite of the series by any means, but I do think its a good movie. I wonder how I'll feel about it over time and more viewings.

Good vid. Always interestin' to know how other people see things in a different light. It's not changin' my mind tho, I still don't like this film. Mostly because it goes back to "reaffirmation" at the end, and because I don't care for classic Western. But I do appreciate it for bein' thoughtful (more than I thought it was).

See for me everything spelled out in that video was even more spelled out in the movie. The film tried so very hard with every breath to simultaneously deconstruct cbm's, make them more "mature," and provide endless callbacks to other genres. But as painfully aware I was of the constant "trying," I never felt it truly succeeded. Certainly not on the level that Chris Nolan did many years prior.

As annoyed as some of you might be to hear this Rogue One is actually a much better example of what Logan was trying to achieve. It too had callbacks to other genres (Asia-Pacific WWII flicks and heist movies instead of Westerns), presented a more mature take on Saturday morning space operas, and even deconstructed the logistics of just why a moon-sized space station might be so easily destroyed. All without calling constant attention to the fact that they were doing each and every one of those things because they made it so easy to just go all for the ride of such an entertaining story. It's only real sins were a mere 5-6 seconds of fan service cameos and that's it.

Khev why do you say such things when you know DiFabio will just kill you for it.

We actually chatted about this very topic offline recently. He already said he's in complete agreement with me but for fun will continue to play the part of a RO hater just to see how many gullible people he can bait.

I haven't spoken to karamazov80 about it but I think it goes without saying that he'll agree that RO > a movie with Wolverine in it.

I don't even read Khev's posts anymore. :lol

All I do is scroll down and see "RO RO RO RO" and know it's probably a post filled with a buncha crap.

I finally saw this crap on Blu Ray. Someone... please tell me that it takes place in an alternate universe, and isn't canon to the X-Men movies. The entire tone of Logan is so jarringly surreal, and there are hardly any explanations of what happened to the other X-Men (except that Xavier had a brain seizure and killed them all?).

I kinda want to forget that I ever saw this. DOFP was a perfect send-off for the franchise, in my opinion.

That was my issue with this film. The events of DOFP to save everyone and restoring things was all for nothing because mutants get wiped out anyway. I went with the alternate time line theory myself.
