I'll buy these, why not. I have every version of the regular DVDs so why not the bluray. Heck, I'd even by HDDVD versions if they had them.

HORRIBLE marketing approach for several reasons. The biggest of those reasons that stands out to me is, who is to say BluRay will be the top format by then? At the rate our tech is going, it wouldn't surprise me if a better format than BluRay was offered by then.

Not only are they cheating the fans out of a better experience in the meantime, they are losing money as well. It's a double edged sword.

They already have movies on little chips now. By then discs may be on their way out.

I've also got every version out there so far so I'll only get the super-duper-full-of-extra-extras-and-blooper-reel-extended edition on BlueRay. Haven't got a player yet, but have been waiting a bit longer to see if they improve the technology any time soon (like autom disc changer for 3-5 discs) and/or above mentioned BR version comes out sooner than expected.

I don't have a player yet either but as soon as I get one, rest assured they'll come out with a better one. Always happens to me. I bought a HP touchscreen computer and a few months later they brought out a new, improved one. Same with my iPod.

I would like it better if they released the extended versions. But I will still buy this. Can't wait to see it in Blu-Ray and with Blu-Ray sound even better.

Maybe SS will have some special release to accompany this announcement... you know, since SW fandom takes the LOTR's fanatics and likes to remind us that LOTR's are just fantasy books and a couple movies, while SW has far more life lessons and has, by definition at this point, a truly religious following. There are cults who WISH they were Star Wars :wacky
Seriously? I mean, what's going to happen when STAR WARS comes out on Blu Ray? They probably already have bootlegs for them :banghead
If I didn't love lightsabers so much...

Okay, I am aware that this wasn't the most appropriate place to vent like this, but I will return to topic by stating that I'll be waiting for the Extended Versions to come out on Blu Ray before investing, especially since my parents will probably just end up buying the first releases themselves, and I can just watch theirs.:peace

It's good to see that you're aware that this is not the most appropriate place to vent this sucky SW spew on us.

I'll wait for the Trilogy box set. Just like I do for any movie that's part of a Trilogy. It doesn't make sense to buy them in singles.

My heaven's. Anyone who believes this must have the reading comprehension of a 7 year old.

Sorry, not to rant on you but you kind of deserve it after an asinine comment like that. :lol
