I've got a feeling there's got to be some deaths soon! Every time the cast swells to this size, they start picking people off. And surely they will get back to 2008 by the end of this season. No way they'll spend another chunk of the last season with the gang stuck in the 70s, right?

Not a major spoiler, but one nonetheless:

D & C have said that one regular main cast member will die this season. The cast member didn't even know until he/she read the script. Whether this means an original cast member or someone who came in a later season is unknown. But I think it will be an original survivor, possibly Sayid or Sun. Plus each season, an original LOSTIE has died; so they probably plan to keep the tradition alive.

Okay... dont know if this has been said but I am bothered of why Sun did not go back to 77 with the others...

I think BEN did not go back because the child version of himself is living in '77.

What if SUN didnt go back for the same reason? What if she is the daughter of Hanso that we heard crying in the first episode this season??? That would make her alive in '77 as well...

Hmmm...

Hmmmm...Nice theory. I always thought Myles was the child, but then again he would be there in the past....

Im not positive that the '77 gang will ever get back to 2008. I think their lives, or most of their lives, will end before the plane crashes on the island. I am positive that the Adam and Eve bones will be 2 of our castaways...

I agree that there will be another death or two before this season ends. I have a strong feeling that Syids time is running out... but anyone is fair game. I will be truely bummed if Sawyer ever dies (before the last episode of the series).

That shouldn't be the issue, because while the LOSTIES were flashing on the Island, Sawyer and Locke, etc flashed to when Claire was giving birth....and Sawyer and Locke in that time period were close by. If they wanted to, they could have gone and found themselves. So I don't think the fact of yourself from two different times cannot be in the same place, because it happened with Sawyer and Locke already. So I don't think Ben is exempt from that.

I personally do not think that is Sun, the best guess right now is that it is Miles. Miles has those mysterious powers (talking to dead people). He could have got those from the island. Also Miles nose started bleeding sometime after Charlotte's, but before Sawyer or Juliet....signaling that Miles has been on the island before; I believe Daniel Faraday also makes some comment about that. I think most things point to Miles being the child of Dr. Candle in the first episode (aka Pierre Chang).

Also, it could be said that Sun and Ben present selves were not needed in 1977, thus they did not flash out of the plane and instead landed in current times. You see how Christian was already waiting for Sun and Lapidus and he tells them they have a journey ahead of them. This is what they were meant to do. Not go to 1977....at least not yet.

Earlier someone suggested Sun didn't go back to 77 because she was pregnant during the first crash, but not during the second and didn't have the baby.

I agree Miles is more likely to be the baby than Sun.

Well that was certainly interesting. Wonder how that is going to turn out.

Oh, and did anyone else catch that Sayid's dad is the guy who held Tony Stark captive? :lol

I was looking at a spoiler site (PLEASE FORGIVE ME!:monkey2) and noticed that the episode that will air on April 15th is titled

"Some Like It Hoth"

Star Wars in da LOST house! :chew:D

I don't think Ben is dead, here's why:

1. First off I don't believe you can kill someone unless you kill their present self. So far we have seen that they can travel back in time.....but not forward (not yet at least). With this said the present is the only place you can be killed or die. This is what I believe.

2. An issue I have with the way they did this (and I am sure it was intended this way). All the time in movies or TV shows, etc. Someone will get shot ONCE in the chest and the person who shot them leaves without checking if they are alive. And 80% of the time, the person is still alive. Ben could have easily survived a single shot to the chest.....so don't count him out.

I don't think he is dead either. Aside from the paradox that none of them would be where they are now without Ben, Daniel said that any changes made in the past would have already occured and would therefore be reflected in the present. I'm going to assume that is the viewpoint the producers take.

There is no way that Ben is dead. This is all part of Ben's life that made him who he is... The very first time that we met Ben (Henry Gale) he had been shot as a kid. Like Daniel said... you cant change anything!

I can't remember the last time I saw a child getting shot on tv (non-cable tv). That was intense.

If kid Ben was shot by Sayid, then why didn't he grow up with malice towards Sayid? If you watch the earlier seasons, there wasn't an air of tension or conflict between the two. I guess it's just one of those things writers just can't fix. Or will they?

Perhaps Ben is Sayid's constant. As evidenced by Faraday talking with Desmond in the past, it looks like constants can interact. Sayid travelled to 1977 to talk to Ben when he was younger and as far as I can recall, that's all Faraday said is required to set up a constant, knowing someone in the past and in the present.

And yeah, I thought Sayid's dad was the guy from Iron Man, I couldn't be sure though.

Ben is a rather detached, dispassionate fellow, I doubt he holds it against Sayid. Other than his dad, he doesn't seem to get very emotional and vindictive, just conducts his plan and moves about the pieces on the board as need be. If anyone would understand or forgive shooting a kid, it would be Ben. :lol

Plus, maybe getting shot turns out to be a good thing in some fashion? His "death" and "resurrection" allowing him to be special and communicate with Jacob?
