Yeah, that was a great scene! I loved when Sawyer told Sayid,
"He's our you."
Which I also just found out is the title of the episode, heh.

They had the episode set so much like it was going to be Sayid's death (starting with his flashback--and yes, the actor playing his father was one of the terrorists from Iron-Man) that it was a great ending. If young Ben were shot in the head-- then yes, he'd be dead but the fact that he took the shot in the chest and fell forward I'd say for sure he's still alive.
And this shot must have something to do with making the loveable Ben we know today so everytime Ben was sharpening Sayid's killing skill since leaving the island he must have been doing so to make sure that Sayid will be ready to shoot his younger self.
I love how this season has progressed and every week the show ends far to soon and I just want the ride to keep on going.

Yup, anything they do in the 70s won't change what happened in their real time. So, if they get back to their real time, everything will be like it was.
Did Sayid have some forsight while under the LSD to kill young Ben?

Even if Ben was shot in the head he would not die. We know that no matter what happens to Ben as a kid he will grow up to be Adult Ben.

Well the description of next week's episode solidifies the fact that Ben is not dead:
"Kate goes to extreme measures to save Ben's life when Jack refuses to help. Meanwhile, Kate begins to tell the truth about the lie in order to protect Aaron."
Plus the episode is titled: "Whatever Happened, Happened". Just goes to show all this has already happened...so nothing is going to change.

I didn't like last night's episode that much... it felt somewhat forced...
and Sayid was just being an ass about it... I did like the ending though,
very predictable episode IMO...

According to the TV schedule of LOST on IMDB, the already confirmed 2nd break will be the week of April 20th. So there will be no show on April 22nd. And as previously said, the finale will air on May 13th (2 hour finale).

I know there's always some debate about what kind of spoilers are okay in the spoiler thread, but can we maybe keep any discussion about that link within the spoiler tags? I don't wanna know who Jacob is yet. Thanks!
I agree. We're into the second half of the season now and the finale is written so I'm sure hardcore spoilers are about to start leaking. Let's tread lightly.
