With the ben/smokey being lame, that's what it did to Locke and Eko, I didn't think it was lame at ALL; I loved that part, smokey shows you your shame or what you think you did wrong and judges you for it. If you are truly sorry, then you are forgiven, but if you did it on purpose for personal gain, then you're toast (which begs the question, Eko really did become a priest after Yemi died, yet smokey killed him....)

As for Widmore, I thought that Ben tricked him into turning the Donkey Wheel, which banished him. How else would he know where the "EXIT" is....?

I thought it meant that they were influenced by the island, kinda like Rousseau's expedition team members. It seemed like they were under mind control. Lapidus said "what?" and she just repeated what she said. Maybe the island is recreating the events and is using Ilana to re-enact the French expedition.

Possible, but why didn't it happen to all the LOSTIES when they originally crash landed?

Plus they seem to know what to do with that box they have, and I don't think the infection would make them randomly know what to do.

Basically I don't see them having the infection.

I've been wondering since we found out that the Losties were now in 1977, and since Damon Lindeloff is an admitted Star Wars geek, if they would acknowledge the release of SW in some way. Now I have no idea what's actually going to happen, but the title of this week's episode is Some Like It Hoth. :lol

I would guess, I wonder how they are going to explain the smokey?? Is it God? A God? If not who the hell is it to judge others?:tap

You got me, but at least they are trying to explain what it is now. It's only been 5 seasons and we really don't know much about it...so I'm not holding my breath.

And that's what they did!! :banana
I loved the whole Hurley talk and relating Miles and his father to Luke and Vader.

"Let's face it, Ewoks suck." :rotfl:rotfl

awesome episode.............loved hurley's "im writing....
the empire strikes back"
.............:lol

This season has been great. Loved the ESB writer's fantasy thing, loved that Faraday is back in black Dharma togs no less, and loved the Juliette 'so it begins' line. I wonder if she is going to survive this season? I'm sadly guessing her days are numbered. :(

I love the domino effect of Ben springing Sayid then Sayid shooting Ben then Kate/Sawyer/Juliette/Richard saving Ben which provokes a skirmish amongst the Dharma peeps and, presumably, 'The Incident' which creates 'The Button' which causes 815 to crash. And surely the destruction of the Swan and the magnetic anomaly had greater, as yet unknown, effects for the island?

I wonder how Miles' relationship with his dad plays out and how does the doc loose his arm? Even more so than Juliette, Miles is my top pick for the next character death.

The 2 week wait is gonna blow.

decent episode... I wonder if baby Miles is going to be sent of the island before/after the "incident"? Maybe Dr. Hanso isnt such a bad dad.

I love that Hurley is writing SW:ESB. I had that discusion with my wife about a month ago...

I said that any of the Losties could "write" a famous song or poem that already existed in the future therefore, taking credit for the work. My wife's response was that they would be stealing the work and I said no that they were simply copying their "own" work. My wife wanted to know who originally wrote the song/poem and I said the Lostie would have... because they copied it from the future.

My wife got mad at me and told me to stop talking. :)

As far as deaths are conserned... I am prepared for anyone to go. But I think that Sawyer, Juliette, and possibly even Hurley are strong possibilities.

I am thinking Sawyer and Juliette because their stories seem to be wrapping up. and I am thinking Hurley because there are 3 episodes left and we need a Hurley flashback still to tell us why he got on the plane. The writers havnt killed off a character in their flashback episode in a while (shannon and eko) and I think it is due time again.

I think its a good thing Hurley's ESB script never got to Lucas, if it ended with Luke and Vader sitting down and having a heart to heart it woulda been worse than the prequels. :lol

I loved seeing Faraday back on the island!! That definitely means things will be coming to a head soon!!

And does anyone else think the survivors of the second plane crash on the other island are maybe Widmore's people? Casue why the hell would the plane have a giant box of guns on it??!!

soooooo............since that didnt happen, does that mean hurley is gonna die..........:horror

bye hurley........:monkey2

I'd like to think the Incident will be what closes out the 77 era for the season, is responsible or Miles talking to the dead and causes his father to lose his arm.

Great Episode!!
I actually liked Miles character in this one...

Now, here comes the SW geek in me...
Seems like the writers haven't watched ESB for a while...
Chewie doesn't shoot the Probe Droid, it's Han, then it self-destructs ...
Also, Vader cuts Luke's Han before telling him he's his father...:nono

Nope, I think they are a third group. The plane survivors were a part of the same group from the flashback that grabbed Miles in the van and tried to talk him into joining up with them and not Naomi and Widmore's group. They asked Miles the same question about what is in the shadow of the statue in the van that the plane survivors asked the pilot.
