But this definately has been the best Season so far (IMO).

My favorite episode so far has been Jughead, that was great.

"who's the president?"

"okay dude were from the future"...:lol

you cant help but love hurley.

if the look of surprises on some of the faces like ben, richard, & eloise are to be believed.........they dont seem to have the island as figured out as they would seem to think. great episode.
i really thought sawyer was just gonna help juliette down into the sub & then stay back................he's gotta have a plan dude.

yea i saw that as well, just thinking he was gonna pull another "jump from the helicopter" scene. gonna be interesting to see why the sub didnt leave. something go wrong with the sub? sawyer sabotage it to make them return? did he get a gun somehow and make take them turn around?..........:dunno

i still cant believe the season finally is almost here......:monkey2

Great episode! Can't wait for next week!!!!:monkey4

I just saw this on a DVD website. Apparently the 5th season will have an additional collector set (on either Blu-ray or DVD) called the "Dharma Initiatiation Kit".
https://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Lost-Season-5-Dharma-Initiation-Kit/11783

No other info yet but if it includes lots of Dharma goodies I am definitely down with paying $50 more for the season 5 Blu-ray.

I think he feels so awkward sitting there between Kate and Juliet that he's ready to jump out of the nearest porthole.

There was way too much "happily ever after" talk for me to have a good feeling about the Sawyer/Juliet storyline. This shows doesn't like happy couples--one of them will spontaneously combust before the writers let them go off and invest in Microsoft.

You're nuts. This was hands down my favorite episode of the season and probably one of my favorites of the series. It had everything. Great interactions, Richard/Ben/Locke/other Locke :) Sawyer/Juliette/Kate/Jack, Miles and his dad, great comedy from Hugo, Sayid reappearing to save the day, even Ellie and Charles, Radzinski and Horace were strong in their moments, everyone had time to shine and it didn't feel cramped. Impressive pacing and editing; loved the shot of Sawyer looking at the island and descending into the sub cut with Richard diving into the pool. Great drama, action, comedy, plot, surprises and winks at the audience.

Even more jazzed for the finale next week. I'm amazed that this season has been so consistent and chocked full of great moments. Maybe the best season of the 5 so far?

Still seems like Locke is a lock for Jacob. But anything can happen. :huh I love this show!

Well, since Rita's ex-husband from Dexter is playing Jacob, I would think that we will see him next week.

:lol.............yea i was telling the wife last night with sawyer & juliette acting so in love that juliette was probably the next one to go. & for a minute there after they beat the crap outta sawyer & turned on juliette i was like ...uh-oh....bullet to the head time...:horror. i was glad that didnt happen because i've actually liked her character though her appearances on the show now portray her as a passive background character.

Well, Juliet, errr. . .Elizabeth Mitchell is starring in a new show next season, so it's long been rumoured that she's not long for Lost, so I was a bit worried when both she and Sawyer got on the sub, thinking that Juliet was going to perish, but now if Sawyer and Kate are in the sub, I don't think they'd kill all three in one fell swoop.

Isnt baby Miles and Charlotte on the sub too?....

Our Losties need to get off the sub but the sub still needs to leave because we know the kiddos survive.

I also really liked the John,Ben,Richard and John#2 scene... I love how Ben was totally in the dark on what was occuring.

That was a good scene. It also showed that Richard isn't omniscient, I was giving him a little too much credit it seems.

Those damn scenes from next week pieces showed Sawyer back on the island, so at least he DOES get out.

Hi Tom :)

Well, since Rita's ex-husband from Dexter is playing Jacob, I would think that we will see him next week.

I've been pretty sure they'd reveal Jacob's identity in the season 5 finale ever since the season 3 Nikki & Paulo episode discussing 'The Cobra'. And I would think we'll see him next week because the storyline and Locke are leading us to Jacob not because of any casting business. Or was that just an excuse to sneak in a potential spoiler for everyone? :monkey3

After the season 2 leakage debacle, you do know they filmed several endings for last season's finale and purposely leaked them, so I wouldn't put 100% of faith in info until it airs.

Oh yeah, Juliet's doomed and Miles is too, methinks.

Best line EVER! :rotfl :rotfl :lol :lol :rotfl :rotfl

What's even better is that when being added to the Dharma list, Hugo asked Sawyer who the president was and Sawyer told him that no one would ever ask him that. :lol

I could see Miles wanting to stay behind in the 70s and spend what time he has left with his father since he does not have anything back in the states for him. But that might be impossible as Miles belongs in 2007 right? I mean, how will the LOSTIES travel back to their right time (2007) and can they chose to go back or not?

Excellent episode. Excellent season.

My take so far has been that the writers have a linear plot line and simply fill it up with subplots and "clues" to confuse, and distract the viewers. The final "explanation" will be both logical and simple, I'm guessing.

Notice how with each passing season, the show has moved from a "supernatural based" theme to a more "scientifically based" theme.

With that in mind, I'm guessing that the island's "power" comes from the future, when science has advanced far enough that what we perceive as "impossible" or "mystical", is simply based in science far advanced from today's current level.

Perhaps "future scientists" created a time machine and based it on the island. Perhaps after jumping back to early Egyptian times, they either got left behind, or they somehow perished, leaving the island "time portal" still active and available for use/manipulation by those that stumble upon it. (I brought up the Atlantis theory some time ago and still think it's applicable.)

Unfortunately, each time that events are altered from the "official" time line, time itself attempts to correct it's path. For example, even though Desmond would keep trying to prevent Charlie's death, he somehow knew that Charlie was "meant" to die. But preventing Charlie's death, each individual time, already "altered" the future. If Desmond had allowed Charlie to get struck by lightning or drown or get shot, then Charlie would not have been at the underwater base to shut off the blocking signal (and speak to Penelope.)

One question regarding Eloise and Daniel. Why would Eloise (post-Island) work so hard in preparing Daniel for his eventual return and death (at her hands) to the island?
Once she has the journal and realizes that she has killed her own son, why couldn't she simply refuse to participate in setting up that whole future event? What could have possibly made her feel or think that it HAD to happen? We know she leaves the island and eventually gives birth to Daniel. What if she simply disappears with him to Pigsknuckle, Arkansas and raises Daniel as a supposed "normal" child, not forcing him into a career in theoretical quantum physics? Daniel becomes the manager at the local Walmart and lives a long and quiet life. He never goes back to the island to get shot by her. The space/time continuum is forever altered?
