So, any guesses who that guy is that wanted Jacob dead?

Kick ^^^ episode. :rock

I'm thinking the alive Locke is Wittmore...and that is his loop hole in getting back to the island (coming back as another person)

and by the end of the show they better make everything right and bring Juliet back! It could have been her eye at the end..possibly

They went all Book of Job there with Benny. I'm assuming they're referencing other sources, but that's where my familiarity ends.

Magnificent finale. So many pieces of the puzzle which, by the conclusion of the episode, fell into place and seamlessly fit together.

Nice that all the Locke duality clues, black and white stones and such payed off.

And what lies in the shadow of the statue? "He who will save us all."

Anyone know what the translation of Richard's answer to the question of What lies in the shadow of the statue? means? I think this was the phrase:
Ille Qui Nos Omnes Servabit

I tried googling, but got varied answers. Maybe there is a Latin scholar on board?

Yes, I am a hopeless Lost nerd.

I currently have mixed feelings about the finale.

I mean there was A LOT going on and A LOT to process over the next few days. Almost too many characters this season and not enough episodes to make them feel their worth.

Sun, Lapidus, the weird people with the box, the others, the Dharma folks.....I mean there was so much going on and so many damn people. And Phil's death wasn't as satisfying as I had hoped, it felt rushed. I was hoping for a nice satisfying 2 minute scene of Sawyer kicking his ass.

Jacob....so we see who he is, but after almost 3 full seasons of the mystery of Jacob....we finally see him and we don't seem to get to know much about him and now it appears that he is dead? I'm fine with Jacob dying, because then it will open Season 6 for a lot more answers to be told. But I do hope we get more of Jacob's back story, why he is who he is and exactly who is he?

Locke....Is Locke, Locke anymore? It really would suck to lose one of the best characters on LOST if it is indeed someone else taking Locke's form. Or is it a Locke from another time frame that somehow came to the island or manifested on it? I mean honestly Locke could be anyone or anything right now. But if it isn't Locke, then that means Locke is dead.

Juliet is dead most likely, a lot of people predicted she would die because Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet) is going full time on some other show next season and wouldn't have time for LOST. Which to me tells me that Juliet won't be back next season. I personally thought Juliet wouldn't be the one to die and that Sayid might die, but he didn't. I also predicted that Sawyer and Juliet's relationship would go to ^^^^ by the end of the season. Hopefully Sawyer and Kate get back together next season!

Now we won't know until next season if the hydrogen bomb does indeed blow up, but if it does.....how could they ever rebuild the Swan? The bomb would just annihilate that area and make it totally useless to rebuild. Maybe the electromagnetism somehow prevents the bomb from working how it should and eats up its energy? I don't know, I am just saying that if the bomb blows up as it normally would, then the Swan could not exist.

It was a great finale, but not the best. It was jumbled, jumping around too much and stuff. And I didn't really feel that the build up to The Incident was as dramatic as the Season 3 finale or Season 2 or 4 or 1. But either way I am sure based on the title of the finale and what happened that what we saw was the incident that initiates the button 108 minute protocol.

I didn't understand Jacob meeting with and touching certain people prior to the crash. What I am saying is this......Desmond not pushing the button caused the plane to crash due to the EM released, correct? So if they are saying that Jacob meeting with some of the 815ers prior to the crash....is the reason they did crash. Then that completely changes the facts of the show. Now they didn't say what they meant by Jacob meeting with certain people prior to the crash, but it was a vibe I got. Or maybe Jacob knew that 815 was going to crash because of Desmond not pushing the button and simply went to see/touch certain 815ers to save their lives or to see if they would be 'special' upon their arrival to the island? Jacob seemed very unimportant in the finale.....his story doesn't feel complete.

I was expecting to finally find out the importance/significance of the Guitar Case, why did Hurley take it? Was there really a guitar inside of it? But we never found out.

I do hope the final season has a similar structure to the first few seasons of the show. Slower paced but with one main goal, more concentration on central characters and not too jumbled like this season. I still think this might have been the best season so far, but I did not like the structure of the season. I really think Season 6 should be a full season like the first three, but why would they change that if they already signed on 17 hours for the final two seasons.

I am highly anticipating Season 6. Matthew Fox was JUST on Jimmy Kimmel and said that we would be very satisfied and VERY happy with the way the show ends (as he already knows the ending).

I'm thinking that living Locke has to be the guy from the begining of the episode tonight that wanted to kill Jacob, but for some reason couldn't. Ben killing Jacob would have been the "loophole" Jacob was referring too. But if Locke isn't Locke, how did this guy take his form and appear at the 2nd crash site with everyone else, etc. etc.

A very interesting development to say the least. I'm starting to regret not getting TWO Locke sculpts from Mike now :lol

People are theorizing that the guy in the Begining was Esau......to give you some insight read this:

"Biblical names
Old Testament

* Adam and Eve are the first people created in the Bible.
* Jacob buys his brother Esau's birth right for a bowl of soup. He is the grandson of Abraham (from which the name Bram is derived), and the father of Benjamin and Dan and the great-great-grandfather of Aaron.
* Aaron is the brother of Moses.
* Naomi is the mother-in-law of Ruth.
* Daniel is a significant Hebrew prophet, exiled in Babylon where he is drawn out of retirement to interpret signs.

New Testament

* John the Baptist is Jesus' second cousin. John is also the name of one of Jesus' closest disciples, generally believed to be "the disciple whom Jesus loved".
* James is the "brother" of Jesus. Two of Jesus' disciples are also named James.
* Thomas (Tom) is the disciple of Jesus Christ also referred to as "Doubting Thomas".
* Abaddon is a Hebrew word for destruction, or place of the abyss, according to Revelation 9:11. Abaddon is often believed by biblical scholars to be Satan, the antichrist or a dark angel.
* Christian Shephard's given name is an adjective used to refer to the religion founded by Jesus Christ or its followers.

The Shadow of Death

The Monster/Cerberus may be an allusion to the Shadow of Death that is referred to in the Bible:

Psalm 23:4- "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Job 38:17- "Have the gates of death been shown to you? Have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?"

Isaiah 9:2- "The people walking in darkness, have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned." (Quoted in Matthew 4:16)

Luke 1:79- "to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace" re- John the Baptist going ahead of Jesus."

The point being that LOST appears to have some very very strong ties to the Bible and the story might be going in the direction of the Bible or at least be taking a lot of references to the Bible.

We have already seen LOTS of religious tie ins to the bible on the show, it seems as if the big picture the writers had from the beginning might be in the Bible. I don't know what the significance (if any) of this means, but the similarities are too close to ignore.
