Blue Flame of the West/Mod
Five deaths sounds a little crazy to me. That's a bit over the top. But if Sawyer kills real Sawyer/Cooper, that would be one. If they really kill Charlie, that would be two. If Jack does indeed die it would be a big number three. Maybe they will kill one of the Others like Tom for number four. Possibly the new character from the parachute will only last through the season finale for our fifth death.
Reading about five deaths sound crazy at first, but that doesn't have to mean they will all be main top billed cast members. If they kill some of the guest stars/supporting characters then we could really be looking at only one or two of the actual stars losing their jobs. But we are getting to the point where I don't really want to see any more people die on this show.
If Charlie does indeed die this season, they need to surprise us and have it not be an accident like Desmond is expecting. If he's going to die, it needs to be his own choice. If he sacrifices his own life for the sake of his friends then I could accept his death and it would be a suitable end to the storyline they have going for him regarding his attempts to cheat fate and avoid death. I would miss him, but if he goes out like a man and sacrifices himself for the good of the others (not the Others) then I could respect that.
Another thought--was it a coincidence that the helicopter crashed in the ocean in the approximate direction/location where the cable leads out to the underwater beacon? It seems like the helicopter was heading straight for it. Could it be working after all, or was it just another coincidence?
