LOTR without Gollum is about as likely as SW without suited Vader. It'll happen and when it does Sideshow will make sure they do it right.

Well, being a huge LOTR fan I look forward to when this lineup can really get moving.

Here's some figures I'd want to see soon.

Gandalf the Grey
Gimli
Eomer
Saruman
Theoden
Elrond
Haldir
Arwen
Galadriel
Grima

I remember when SSC were answering questions about Yoda and playing with the idea of making him part of a two pack because they were concerned with the expenses involved and the perceived value with the necessary price point. At least with Yoda they could do two or three releases of him to recoup their expenses. Gollum will need a unique body sculpt with some attempt to hide the joints while maintaining maximum articulation. I'm sure collectors will want him in some of his inhumanly contorted poses. I think they will wait until the collectors have invested plenty into the line to the point where they NEED Gollum and will be willing to pay the necessary price.

One nice thing about the wish lists, is that at least the Wizards have relatively simple outfits compared to the elaborate outfits os the elves and the men of Gondor and Rohan.

Yeah, I could see them doing something like a 2 pack with Yoda and Gollum both in their respective lines. This would help cut the costs I would assume.

So what do you think would be the proper 2-pack for Gollum?

Smeagol and Gollum? That would be nice. Or maybe a 3-pack with Smeagol, Gollum, Deagol?

I wouldn't mind seeing a smeagol/gollum 2 pack. Maybe even a before smeagol/gollum 2 pack.

Smeagol/Gollum, Bilbo/Gollum, Gollum/invisible Gollum...

Frightened Gollum head
Angry Gollum head
Plotting Gollum head
Friendly Gollum head

And of course he would need to come with half eaten fish.

Here would be my ideal line up, starting with GtG of course (it's long, just to warn you, and I've tried to minimize repeat characters for now):

Gandalf the Gray
Saruman
Environment: The Palantir at Orthanc
Introduction of new smaller size body
Frodo
Gimli
Sam (save the other Hobbits to spead out the Fellowship releases a bit more)
Environment: Bill the Pony
Using a new female body
Arwen (any costume, though I love her silver travelling gown)
Galadriel
Environment: the Mirror of Galadriel with silver ewer
First amored characters
Eomer
Theoden
And from here you add variety
Merry and Pippen two-pack
Eowyn (Rohirrim Armor)
Prologue Elrond
Prologue Gil-Galad (just because he has the most glorious armor made for any movie EVER!)
Environment: The Shards of Narsil laid upon Elven Statue
Gollum
Gandalf the White
Denethor
Prologue Elven Warrior(s)
Haldir
Elven warriors from Helm's Deep
The Mouth of Sauron
Grima Wormtongue
Prologue Elendil
Prologue Isildur

And so from here you can revisit characters, add horses, generic soldiers, orc bodies, whatever. There's way more to do than this little list. I just think this would be a nice, varied line up that moves in subtle themes and mixes the films without feeling random or chaotic. Boy did I just spend half an hour on this thing? Yup, yes I did.

Oh, did I mention Sauron and a troll or two?

Quite an extensive list you have there and very impressive. However, I wonder how many collectors are willing to pay $65+ shipping for the background characters. Generic Elves, Elendil, Isildur, Gil Galad, Denethor are very important to the story, but I have doubts as to how many would sell.

I really hope that they iron out their differences and Jackson does the Hobbit. I would love to see the dwarves get the SSC treatment.

I wouldn't call Denethor a background character myself but regardless I'd love to see a figure of him. I'd set them up with Gandalf The White clacking Denethor on the head with his staff.:D

I would...for one...

I'd love to have an Elendil and Isildur figures because of the aromor if nothing else. A PF Elendil would kick ass too.

In case anyone is interested, it's been 222 days since a LotR 12" announcement. :monkey3

that is ridiculous. they can do it right and get stuff out in a decent amount of time. oh well, what can ya do.

Man that list is long! I didn't realize that, it was late.

Anyway I included background characters near the end of my list; it's actually my ideal chronological order. By that point we would have all of those main characters, so it would make sense to add some other ones. I'd LOVE a 1:6 Gil-Galad!!!

As to why we STILL don't have an announcement, I can only hope there are a few almost ready for pre-order!
