Those 3d glasses made me glad I watched Up in 3D. Those first 15 minutes are such a ''b" to sit through!

I know. It is such a heart pulling opening. Now when we watch it I skip thru the opening.

I had the same problem. Fortunately Amazon let me exchange it. WB will let you exchange it too, because I contacted them, but you have to send them the disc, wait for them to get it, then wait for them to ship you the right one back. Pain in the butt.

Got this set last week and managed to squeeze the first two movies into the weekend movie cycle.

So how is the experience? How does it look?
Are the extras the same ones from the DVD's?

one small question. If Saruman took Gandalf's staff from him at the beginning of the Fellowship, How did he get it back when he jumped off the tower on to the huge eagle??? Did Gandalf make another or did he have some stashed some where?

I thought they were two different staffs. The first one held his pipe in the top, and there was some difference in the runes or markings between the two. He could have fashioned a new one in Rivendell after his escape. He carries a staff at the Grey Havens although his staff was broken at Minas Tirith. So he has the ability to craft a replacement as needed.

Thankfully, he didn't take Glamdring to Orthanc. That would have been irreplaceable.

That's scene is actually in RotK but I get what you're saying. I have some tiki torches in the back yard and I always say the line when I light them.

You are right. Well then that is one of my favorite scenes in RoTK as well as when Aragorn says "For Frodo" and the hobbits are the first to run out and fight at the Black Gates.


Now I want to get some tiki torches.

And I totally spaced on one of my very favorite scenes in the whole movie - which happened to appear in the Two Towers - the last march of the Ents. I loved that scene and the music that plays is perfect.

also when Gandalf is on top of Isengard does he tell that little moth to go find the big eagle? First time I watched it I thought Gandalf made the moth bigger but that's def not right since it's a huge eagle that he rides off of.

Yes, he tells the moth to go and get the eagle. The moth stays the same size.

I like to think the moth told Radagast, who told the eagle (Gwaihir). That's what happened in the book, and Radagast does exist as he'll be in The Hobbit!
