Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

Very nice work, Saint! I'm hoping my head turns out that nice when I get around to painting it :) What jacket are you using on Max?

The jacket is from the Barbie Harley Davidson line... I had to use acetone to remove the logo from the back of the jacket, but it was the only one I could find that was realtively affordable.

Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

Guys, if you're serious about getting a RW fig done, BillyB's kit is the way to go! Got mine today, and it's been a real treat to get set up. I'll have some pics up soon, along with a little request for some painting advice.

Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

Here we go, guys.
In order:
1: The whole shebang

2: Quickie paintjob w/ acryl on Billy's included head sculpt (I'm working on a solution for the CHASM between the chest and neck :rotfl )

3: Billy did an amazing thing with this leg brace. the whole thing articulates at the joints which are joined by the tinniest screws you can possibly imagine. A true work of art!

4:Closeup of the torso, Shoulder pad, shotty w/ holster, and various tools on the belt.

5: Shameless plug of my custom Post-apoc femfig (Wasteland sniper, or did the gyro captain have an "operation"? YOU decide!)

Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

Finished my Road Warrior Max figure. The head was a private commission by Chris Howes and painted by Kuato. I will post some better picture tomorrow when I have some daylight.

Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

Jeff, looks darn good!! I always love seeing the end result when some talented person like you takes something I've sculpted and makes it into something much more than it started out as. Now it has life!

Really Nice work. I like the dog.:D

Kuato, excellent painting as usual!

Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

Just thought I'd share this magazine cover I had in my collection. It also has a great article about Blade Runner. I loved collecting magazines as a kid.

Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

I'm really disappointed that we're not getting a WEZ sculpt. That's a figure I always wanted to tackle. Great figure on the shelf with Max.

Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

Ok, so I'm real late getting back in here.
I tried to make a second coat using the smaller zipper, but since the smaller zipper did not have a bottom closer, it makes it non functional and doesn't look right. So, I went back and modified the original a little and here's the final images. I put it on a Dragon body so you could see the final fit.
The zipper on this jacket is the same one used on most of the Medicom outfits out there.
It's still a pain to reproduce, so if anyone out there comes across a 1/6th scale pattern for this, it would really help me out. So far I haven't had any luck.

Re: MAD MAX/ROAD WARRIOR Thread

Very good job Billy. Make that left sleeve a quarter inch longer and I say you've nailed the leathers.
