Don't feel bad about starting the thread. You posted a thread with all the facts you had at the time. I think most of us would have done the same.

I don't know which I would like less a half assed ending by someone else, or a story left hanging. It'd be nice to get lucky and get a good ending by someone else.

I beg to differ. Whether or not she quit, it still sucks that she's not doing the last book. People's reactions remain the same, only the reasoning behind them has changed.

Again though, in the end, Karen isn't finishing her series, which is where the disappointment comes in. And we really don't know the truth behind it. Fact is, that could've been changed as a result of her "tantrum." We'll never know.

Here's some news for you guys: Lucas himself doesn't follow or give a damn about the EU or its continuity. That's all handled by minions in Licensing (which is why it's not canon). I'm 99% sure he doesn't even know about this.

And that is part of why we were annoyed because why should one EU source trump another EU source. But that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.

you think it's Bad now? just wait. when he passes on, and someone else gets ahold of it, it will likely get all sorts of weird, and the inevitable Star wars/ Star Trek/ aliens/ Predator crossover will happen.

We'll have Yauta jedi, and Xenomorphs used as assassins by the sepratists, and all other sorts of silly.

When Lucas dies, SW is f???ed. I bet some other guy, like the guy who writes the CW cartoon will takeover, and nothing will ever be right again.

I think it's quite possible that parts of our universe may collapse, including parts of North America and Europe... You just wait!
