Keep checking stlcardinals.com. They should be releasing tickets slowly over the next couple of days.
If you end up going, shoot me a PM. I should be at both Games 1&2 (and 6&7 if it gets that far) with my son in tow. He's a youngling, so I won't be able to hit up any bars or anything, but maybe I can swing by your seats to say hi or something.
Bill, are you going to any of the WS games?
And yes, Go Cards!
- my heart goes out to Kabukiman and all the Brewer fans. Just remember that the playoffs are about who's hot at that time, and no one can take away your division crown. The Brewers had one heck of a season, and I hope they can sign Fielder and continue their playoff push next year.
I wish. But no chance in hell of that happening with my funds. Still haven't been to the new Busch yet. I went to quite a few games at the old one--and it was infinitely easier to attend games when I was dating a girl from St. Charles, but alas I am stuck in this cesspool known as South Florida.
I will be watching every single game, however, as usual.
Just bought a nice throwback Ozzie Smith jersey to boot.
So sorry to hear about your loss.
That stinks. You'll have to make it up to a game next year if possible. They did a great job with the place.
Ozzie throwback?!!? Congrats!!! What color did you get?
Its been that way for a long time with the AL team losing the DH. Why is it a shame? The Cards aren't getting to use one when in St. Louis. Its called a level playing field.
NL baseball is such a better game than AL. I wish they would get rid of the DH altogether.
Do you understand the flaw in your logic? It's not a change for the Cards in St. Louis because NL teams never use a DH in their parks to begin with! It's a shame because it's more difficult for an AL team to lose an everyday player and have a pitcher bat when they're not use to doing it the entire season except for inter-league play. It's not a level playing field if the series goes to a 7th game.
Actually, the AL has the advantage. AL teams can justify investing 10% more on their lineup for someone who will hit 4 times a game 140 games. The NL clubs don't invest millions of dollars on a player only use to PH maybe 100 games.
Most AL teams will find a place on the roster during the WS to use the DH if he is irreplaceable. For example David Ortiz played 1B during the series.
1. So why would that be an advantage for AL teams? NL teams have the option to spend more money on pitching if they would like. Some owners do and some don't.
2. Not always true because some DH guys just physically can't play in the field. The Twins sat down Jim Thome when playing inter-league games this season.
See Vlad trying to play RF in the 2010 WS.
