Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

You guys are going way off here lol. This is GOOD news. Just two days ago this was in such limbo and nobody had much hope. No matter what happens this is GOOD news.

I know it's fun to speculate and all, but right now, i think we should be more appreciative that SOMETHING is happening. And worry about the what if's a little later on. (And Nolan is a respected name)

FINALLY Supes may get the love he deserves.

(enjoy this news Superman fans)

I agree, we havnt heard anything concrete yet. Just be happy somthings in progress!:banana

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

True. Even mediocre Superman is always better than no Superman. Right?

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

I don't even acknowledge 3 and 4.:) 1&2 ARE GEMS FOR ME THOUGH. (With 1 being the best superhero movie i've ever seen)

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

I've got a lot of nostalgia for the first one, for sure. The new Batman movies may have surpassed it in my mind as great all time comic movies, but I'll always love it for what it is.

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Second one for me too............Richard Donnor cut ofcourse :)

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Just imangine if Donner got to finish all of part 2..and made them both at the same time and had full support. Would of been even more epic!!. Mabey theyll take a smiliar approach to the new flick

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

With the new films they need to use a different super villian. Lex Luthor is fine as a mastermind, but I want to see Superman have a "Super fight" with today's technology!! I'm talking a building crumbling, earthquake causing brawl between Superman and another known Superbeing (like darkseid or Mongal or doomsday!).

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Yeah, I think that is a near consensus view of what people want to see in a new Superman movie. He's freakin' Superman. Give him an enemy who can destroy the moon with a punch or something. I think something like the JLU episode where Superman fought Captain Marvel is what we should end up seeing.

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

True I think in the new movie Possible good villians are Darkseid, Braniac or mabey Bizzaro!!!!. Have luthor in it mabey trying to work with the villian..or have Luthor in the LEXCORP BIO SUIT!!!..that be badass and a good fight!

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

From the Superman homepage:

Diane Nelson, head of DC Entertainment, told MTV.com that the recent report that Christopher Nolan was mentoring a new Superman movie was nothing but rumor.

"Wouldn't you like to know!" laughed Nelson when asked if there was any truth to the recent rumor that "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan will oversee a reboot of the "Superman" movie franchise.
"We don't have any plans about that, and as I've mentioned, in the coming months we'll be making a lot of announcements about what our content plans will be," she added. "But right now, that's nothing but rumor - and we frankly don't say a whole lot more about rumor than that, so..."

So, from her answer, it would appear that the news first reported at deadline.com is just another rumor in the on-going wait for real news about a new Superman movie.
Meanwhile, the New York Times has an interesting article on the new executive team at DC Comics and DC Entertainment.

... Since I was personnally dismayed at the idea of having Nolan near Superman, that makes me rather hopeful :D

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Yeah this was a rumor, mabey the title should change. I didnt know what to think about nolan, it could of been really good!, or very in the wrong direction. But i like DCs new dream team alot better. I like Geoff Johns and his writing, his smallville eps are always KICkA$$. IM HYPE

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

It may be a rumor, but Nikki Finke very rarely reports something completely out of left field. She does have insiders. I could understand why Nelson would want to deny it, there is probably no deal in place and she has to make a mark with a significant announcement herself. Aside from hiring some people, she's not really made any progress since being set up as the DC movie guru.

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Great news IMO. Means to me that Nolan is possibly "in charge" of the production and who knows, maybe Jonathan Nolan will take a crack at the dialogue.
Now, who to direct?

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Goyer writing is fine, Nolan severely changed Goyer's original scripts to fit his own vision with his brother, I would imagine any director worth their salt would do the same here. At least there is movement.

Look at this link it already been debunked!!, what really bothers me is that they mention Chris Nolan again when last week they told the media that was all lie!!....so lets not believe everything they say people!, still is nice to hear some rumors from time to time!:banana
