Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

That's what Marvel and Fox should do with Wolverine. Let Jackman appear in one MCU film. Have Iron Man appear in an X-Men film. No money changes hands, just a mutual sharing of characters for a fun one-off.

Neither would fit thematically with the other franchise. What would Stark do in an X-Men movie other than just be there to be there. Same with Wolverine, why would this version of his character interact with these other heroes

It has to work story wise as tossing characters in for the sake of it is a hindrance to the movie at hand than a benefit

If you can't think of any plausible reason that superheroes might team up then why are you even watching these movies? He absolutely could fit "thematically" into any given MCU film.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

I can't believe that James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Kim Jong Un himself (or at least cyber-terrorists loyal to him) really might have had a hand in this deal coming to pass. So bizarre.

Only in the same way an iceberg helped James Cameron win an Oscar.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

After reading those leaked emails I'm pretty sure being forced to collaborate with this person will be the end for Marvel Studios.
Amy Pascal is the reason Raimi left the original franchise and the reason the new franchise was so strained. She's only interested in capitalizing off the brand. Sony has never known what to do with spiderman. Without Raimi they floundered. Hopefully Pascal steps aside and lets Feigi do work.

Have you read AvX and Uncanny Avengers?

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

DOFP more or less already stole some AvX/CW story. Those future sentinels are basically Stark Sentinels.

Amy Pascal is the reason Marvel/Disney is "getting Spiderman back." Without her incompetence and lack of professionalism, we wouldn't be getting Spidey in Civil War. We should all be on our knees thanking and being grateful that she exists.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

I hope this take the Batman Forever route (wait! Hear me out) and just have Spidey all good to go in the MCU, just like Val Kilmer was Batman and didn't needed another retelling. It's amazing that audiences have gotten so accustomed narrative hand holding that a Spider-Man origin has to be told twice in ten years.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

I guess Spidey will have to be pretty early in his career in the MCU. Otherwise won't the Avengers be like, "Hey, thanks for nothing when the Trade Federation invaded NYC, scumbag."

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Spider-man will have to be a teenager and sort of "new on the scene" to explain why he hasn't been seen to date. Fury knew about everything so the idea that a guy in red and blue tights with super powers in NY escaped his notice is kind of implausible. As long as they don't do something stupid like say he was bitten by a Chitauri spider that fell off an invading ship, I'll be happy.
The only down side to this will be if Sony is too stupid to learn from their mistakes. If Marvel makes a definitive Spidey and then Sony tries to hijack it again and micromanage resulting in more of the same mess. They need to shut up and admit they don't know how to make a superhero movie franchise.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

They should make him gay and black to appeal to the cool audience of today.

No No...No. You got it all wrong.... Female lesbian and black, with a Russian accent... Petora Parker!!! :yess: Or maybe a Korean spy sent to America by Kim Jong Un to infiltrate Shield and the Avengers to take them down from within so he can achieve world domination!!!! Forget Thanos and Infinity War!! Korean Invasion!! Awesome!! :rotfl

They just need to make him Canadian. Then, it's not so weird that he wasn't involved in any of the New York or DC attacks, or whatever. It would also make it easier to explain why he's so much funnier than everyone else (Phil Hartman, Leslie Nielson, SCTV, Kids in the Hall, Jim Carrey, Michael Myers, Dan Aykroyd, Will Arnett, even freakin Seth Rogan are Canadian).

Basically how odd and out of sorts he was in his own first feature flick, Origins. Obviously that movie suffered from other problems, but I agree, for anything other than a cameo of him telling Stark or Fury to **** off, Wolverine seems like he'd be out of place.

...and I hope it goes without saying.... lets reboot this right, its JJJ time. :lecture

Offcourse he would be out of place. There is absolutely no reason to have Wolverine or any other Xmen in the MCU. Such a dumb idea.

That's what makes the collision of worlds so awesome. Watch Iron Man 1 again. Does that movie "feel" like Thor could step in and say "hi" at any time? No way. But combining the two characters made for awesome entertainment. "Hey Point Break, you've got a hell of a swing."

I just picture Hugh Jackman reacting to all the Avengers the exact same way he did when he took his first tour of Xavier's mansion. "Cyclops? Storm? What do they call you, Wheels?" :lol

You're probably right. I mean, your opinions are totally spot on. That will be proven when Spidey's inclusion in the MCU has catastrophic results, bringing the entire studio to it's knees in utter collapse, no more Marvel films after 2017. No Infinity War, nothing. Everything this whole place, just gone.
