Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

In case it wasn't obvious I wasn't actually being serious. ;)

Haha okay. I figured your quotes were a joke :) I am staying clear of promos so I really don't know what to expect in the film.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Yes, of course I understand. It's just what constitutes the importance of all The Avengers coming together for the battle? How big does the enemy have to be for them to all be involved? U.S. President kidnapped, that's not a big enough crime for SHIELD to get involved with?

I guess you just have to think they are all fighting other battles and therefore can't be there. I know it's the same for the Justice League as well.

Actually that's a damn good point. I didn't really consider that SHIELD is all, **** the president. :lol

I figure it has to do with other heroes being busy. I will say though, it seems Marvel is getting lazy with it. At least in comics you know they are off doing something, but movie audiences want to know. Like in Thor: TDW, it pissed me off that Jane was just, you were gone for 2 years....and Thor was like my bad. No! Seriously! What the **** happened in those 2 years? In a movie I expect answers, in a comic I'd figure Thor was busy with other things.

Haha yeah. Two years he was gone. They didn't really come up with a good reason for him not having contact with her during that time. He also came back to fight with The Avengers during that time as well didn't he? He didn't have a minute to contact her at all? Lol

Yeah, the dude is on a ****ing quinjet, you are telling me you can't get more info on it or send a message. I know there was a little mention of Jane and he was told she was doing fine, but he needed to actually do something about that. Between her farewell in Thor to their first meeting in over 2 years, we only got 2 notes mentioning Jane to Thor, I think it was Coulson and Heimdall.

I really don't know Thor comics, but is he supposed to be with Jane or Lady Sif? Seems like he would be better off with someone from his own world rather than Earth Jane, who he can only see once every 2 years lol

Or how Thor could get back to Earth so easily for Avengers despite it being not possible at the end of his first movie.

I really liked the first Thor and how they were separated after the good chemistry they had. Then Avengers was like **** that just bring him to earth and forget the cliffhanger if the Thor movie. THEN Thor 2 had it two years later without him going to see her once since the end of Thor despite clearly being able to and the chemistry they had in the first flick was gone and it became a filler flick to introduce the Aether

Thor and Jane Foster have a history in the comics, so the film is more or less accurate in that aspect. In the comics she was a nurse, not...whatever she is in the films :lol Also, Jane did the logical thing and went with him to Asgard. However, Thor and Sif were an item when they were kids, his first love or something.

Ah gotcha, thanks :)

Yeah, I don't even remember what she is in the films. A researcher or something?

There's a simple explanation. Thor used a plothole, which allows him to be in any place that he needs to be. Plotholes are part of the universe...some say they have no limits, they can be small or they can be huge. The truth is, they are mysterious and we don't know much about them, just like we don't know much about wormholes.

Yup there you go. That is also when Thor was/is Donald Blake.

Yeah they didn't really talk about that either. Or really anything at all, like Loki being on Earth at the end of Thor, taking over Erik's body.

They did have some good chemistry, and that's what I find annoying, that out of all the love plots in the MCU, Thor and Jane is one of best; though Cap and Peggy win it for me, hands down. Every other one is forced, the attempt of Quill and Gamora, Pepper and Tony, Sharon to take over Peggy, Clint and Natasha, I'm sure even if we got Betty, it might be toned down with Bruce. They really needed to work with that, and who knows how Thor could have been received.

I think that's why some people don't completely hate the ASM series because of Gwen and Peter's chemistry.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

They did explain in Avengers how Thor got back in a very small way when Loki said;

"Oh, you should thank me. With the Bifrost gone, how much dark energy did the Allfather have to muster to conjure you here, your precious Earth?"

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

They explain, point blank, in Avengers that it took a great bit of magic on Odin's part to get Thor to Earth. I doubt he'd do that so Thor can see his mortal GF whenever he wants.

Makes you wonder why do they even need the brined and Idris Elba to begin with if Odin can do that. :lol What better way to make sure that no one can get in or out of Asgard than one guy having full control. I mean, you never know when your evil half Frostgiant son might try to start a war or something. :lol

Funny thing is, Mjolnir has always been able to open portals between Asgard and Earth, so there was no reason for Odin to have another heart attack trying to get Thor back to earth. Hopefully, they say that in some other random line in the next film :lol
