I've never seen that in Tyler Perry movies.

FRIDAY movies has all 3, spike lee does that too.

I saw a tyler perry in tv once where the love interest was latina and het gets crap for it

It belongs in the bottom of their resume. It's a bloated, uninspired, melodramatic, patronizing waste of a Captain America film.

I was looking forward to seeing this, until hearing people go on and on about race again. I was just going to enjoy it is a good movie, now I might skip it because I am so tired of prejudice/reverse prejudice BS, it kind of ruined even seeing the movie now. I see that anybody who doesn’t like the new Star Wars movies is afraid of women, according to JJ Abrams. Getting tired of divisive people using race and gender as a weapon against anyone who happens to disagree with them – WHOEVER is doing it, and whether I like their work or not.

How much I like a movie has to do with good writing, good directing, and good acting, not gender or color of someone.

What do they call somebody who hates people of any race, gender, sexuality, breed, class, political party, religion, etc etc going around accusing those who disagree with them of being prejudice - as a charged and manipulative way to try to discredit them and/or shut them up? Because that’s a label I would wear proudly.

Stupidity comes in all forms, it doesn’t discriminate against bad movies or poor behavior, because it’s too stupid to.

Sorry to say this but the movie itself is very political.
Even if you avoid the race talk online
The movie itself is full of talk about nationalism vs globalism
About closed borders vs open borders... stuff like that

This is what makes me laugh so much about people wanting to avoid political talk and wants to watch a fun superhero movie when the movie itself is political lol

I may or may not mind, re Wakanda in the comics BEING isolationist...if the country is that rich then some questions would come up, same as Civil War. It was all the cr@p that's blown up about this film; and apparently a whiff disrespect? to characters who happen to be white within the film. Apparently, since I haven't seen it yet.

But I live in a "diverse" area and that kind of strain is nothing new. It's a daily occurrence in the media, real life, etc. The fun for me re BP got sucked out of it weeks ago when folks decided it was a "statement event". If I see it at all, it'll be after all the people who went to make a statement (of all races) and took entire families get a look at the incoming credit card bill. Take a large group of people and you'll drop 200$ or more with snacks. Movies around here aren't cheap. I figure by next weekend, reality will be sinking in (in spite of the many people swearing online they'll go to multiple repeat views "to keep the BO up":google) and I can see the movie in a half-full, calm theater.

Same as WW.

I completely agree with you. I think I'm going to skip the movie. Just want to enjoy a good movie without all the outside rhetoric.

You'd be doing yourself a great disservice. This is an excellent movie, crafted with care by an auteur that isn't afraid to stray from the usual Liberal narrative championed by Hollywood and actually explores politics in a way that doesn't repel you.

I'm completely anti-liberal and I applaud Coogler and co. For delivering such a great film.

People are expecting a spiderman kind of movie when this is closer to v for vendetta or something like that :lol :lol

I just got back earlier today from seeing this film and I was ridiculously impressed.

The onscreen chemistry between all of the actors was great. I LOVED the backstory of Wakanda and the five tribes. Everything about this movie was great. The CGI in the final battle needed a little work, IMO, but that's probably one of the very few critiques. And Killmonger....I LOVED him. He is one of my favorite villains in the MCU now. (I know little about Black Panther comics, but Michael B. Jordan did one heck of a job.)

All in all, for ME, this was top 3-4 best MCU movies. I put this behind only GOTG, Iron Man +/- Winter Soldier.

When I left the theater, I started thinking how excited I am to see what happens to Black Panther in Infinity War and the role he plays. I can't say the same about some of the other characters in the MCU.

Oh, and the soundtrack....:rock :rock :rock

Ditto. I can care less about what's next for Tony, Strange, Bitc* Parker, Banner, Widow, Barton, Lang, etc.....

All I care about in the MCU right now are Cap, the GOTG & BP.

Chakor's posts sold me. Didn't want to pay for this one after horrible trailers but I'm willing to give it a chance. I mean, he doesn't like Ant-Man and has THOR and The First Avenger in his top 5... That's too close to my view. I have to check it out. :lol
