Boy if Israel is having a hard time on Horizon....I doubt I'll make it through. But I'm not giving up! :D
Let us know when you make it through Ill. I'm curious to hear any suggestions you might have.
It was tough, but I was able to make it through. I got really pissed at one point and that's when I play my best. :D Instead of staying stationary I moved around constantly and focused on one enemy at a time, using up on the d-pad to have my squad blast them to smithereens. :rock

I thought Horizon was bad, Miranda's Loyalty mission was worse. :monkey4

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread with my progress updates.
It's like group therapy. :D

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Illusive Man wants to speak to me in the conference room...that means Horizon's next.

I don't want to go in. I'm going to ignore him for the moment. :lol

Dang it! He won't let me ignore him. I was going to mine a bit more so I could get some platinum for another upgrade...but it won't let me. :( I have to talk to him.
I hate that you can't ignore him, but better to get the game moving.

Before I forget:

I was able to effectively "mediate" the Jack/Miranda conflict without a full bar - only about 75% was necessary.
Interesting, I'm more that sure that I was at about that level at that point of the game. I wonder in having renegade points on the other side lowers your paragon?

It's weird that we all have contradictory stories. To me, the Scions were easy, they can only attack you with shockwave, so you side-step him. I was even hitting him with melees once you time the shockwaves (maybe it was easier as I was a Vanguard :huh)

Jen, if you're stuck on the praetorian, use the high cover of boxes so he can't hit you with his laser-thingies and keep circling those boxes. Since he only goes after you, send your teammates to somewhere safe and just use their powers on the praetorian. 3-4 minutes of that and he should be toast.

Kain, try to just emulate what this guy does

The Praetorian was actually a piece of cake compared to the waves of collectors. :lol I had full heavy ammo (Collector laser gun-thingy) and just kept going around crates and nailing him with it - while Jack and Miranda kept blasting it with biotics. It was down pretty quick. :rock

I'm about to do Miranda's loyalty mission next....Ill said it was harder than Horizon. Crap.

Question for all of you - I can't remember but don't you get the last ship upgrade from Tali? I REALLY REALLY hate the mission to recruit her. HATE IT! I was thinking about not even doing it at all since you don't have to recruit all the members.....but I think she has the last ship ugrade. :dunno Damn, I just do not like that mission at all - having to stay in the shade - the stupid colossus...and I don't ever even use Tali on my team.

I think even without that final ship upgrade I can keep the remainder of my crew alive by having Mordin and Legion with me when I fight off that probey/laser thing in the cargo area of the ship....I think that it's one of them that dies without that upgrade...but they live if they are with you fighting. Anyone know for sure?

Yes you get the shield upgrade from her. And if i remember correctly those are the 2 potenial that can die. Not exactly sure though :huh

You know I never used adrenaline rush before - but it saved me on Horizon. I think I may retrain my skills and max it out. Right now I just have it on 2. I'll get rid of the damn cyro ammo - never use that. Just keep with inferno and disruptor ammo. Have both of those maxed out and Reave.

Cool - that's what I thought. I read somewhere that if they are with you fighting (down in the hull area) - they live. It's either when Mordin's in his lab or Legion's in his area that they are killed when the ships going through the debris field. I'll do a new save before I do the IFF mission and go back to that if my plan doesn't work.

I may not recruit everyone - but I'm sure not going to let anyone die on me! :lol

yea i really didint use it that much before either but when its maxed out, it has a fast cooldown and it really does save yer ass. Yea I dont use cryo that much, inferno and disruptor is good enough to get through most. And since u are using jack, group warp ammo helps too.

Odd that I didn't find Miranda's mission too hard. It had a LOT of rocket guys with shields, so bring people who can take away shields (miranda/garrus).

Adrenaline was the only way I could beat Saren in ME1

All this talk is making me want to try another playthrough on Insanity, but I don't have time with all the other games coming out. FFXIII is next week

During the hull breach battle, I had

Thane and Grunt fighting with me, and Thane was killed shortly thereafter. He was loyal, but I intentionally avoided upgrading my ship at all, to see what would happen. Poor bugger.

Thane is my future lover and i can not have him die. :lol Dang I'm going to have to do some research and see which ones are at risk with out the shield upgrade.....crap, crap, crap May need to do that damn Tali mission after all.

I didn't upgrade my ship and
jack, tali, and thane all died as the occular orb thing is shooting you hahahaha

Here's what the book says about upgrades:

For every upgrade you did not make you will lose one team member. Your squad choices affect who will be lost.

So basically whomever you have on your team to fight the oculus is spared all the rest - it's a crapshoot as to who you will lose. Doesn't seem like there is any way to go around it and save everyone on the ship.

:rotfl:rotfl But like I said, I upgraded nothing on the ship, I think you said you did all but one, so it MIGHT end differently.......:lol

Woops I meant Jack and Thane - screw Tali -she does nothing for me. All she does is whine and complain. :lol

Hmmmm....interesting, I didn't know that. All this talk is making me want to play it again with a female Shephard romancing Kelly :naughty:naughty

:lol:lol I saw a youtube video with a male Shepard romancing Thane! I didn't think that was possible. :lol

I always play as the female...I'd go for Samara - but her romancing days are over. :monkey2

I've only romanced Garrus and Thane. Thane is my favorite so I'll probably go for him again. I'd even go for Grunt if it was possible. :lol Just out of curiosity. He does make me laugh...."finger deep and I can snap your spine" or something like that. He's a character - hope they keep him on for ME3.

Just did the Miranda loyalty mission. Damn team died on me. I'm stingy with the medi-gel and heavy ammo....so I found a spot where I had good cover, they couldn't sneak up on me and took care of them all myself. If it wasn't for Reave, I would never have been able to do it.
