Bottom line, Mayweather isn't hungry anymore. He's filthy stinkying rich, healthy and ultimatley has nothing left to prove.

there is a major possibility that he will be fighting Victor Ortiz .... so, yeah he is still hungry just not fighting Manny.

The embarassing thing was; Pac fought a mediocre fight, plaed right into Mosley's style, and Pac still won with the most underwhleming performance of his last 10-12 bouts. Shane did not use the *** at all to gauge range consistently or keep Manny at bay. It was a disgusting performance by an older fighter who really gave the MGM a lackluster effort.

The best fight was Arce vs. Vasquez Jr., which was a brutal end for the Puerto Rican boxer. Tough loss, as the on-going saga of the Mexicans vs. the Ricans, just added another classic saga to their legacy.

^^^ Exactly, Remy.. The Floydiots always claim Gayweather is the best of the two fighters due to his unbeaten record.. but his opponents are 'pieces of cake' for him, and do not really pose a real threat to his unbeaten record.

We can all go on and on about who's the better fighter, but Manny just keeps accepting whoever boxer Top Rank Boxing signs for him to fight.. That's the professionalism - don't duck opponents. Accept a reasonable opponent (not a mismatch) and study his tactics to be able to win against him come fight night.

Gayweather, you can start hiding now, you chicken-____!

Clever nicknames.... :pfft:

Facts are; Manny fights like that again, especially against Floyd, he will get destroyed. And this coming from a fan of Manny's who has followed his whole career and has enjoyed his ladder career and rise to be one of... IMO, one of the top 15 boxers of all-time.

Floyd's defense, counter and ability to use his *** - actually, his mastery of that - would negate Manny's speed and power big time. Especially if Manny dogs it as he did last night vs. an unworthy opponent who was: a) a dog for fighting a horrible tactical match b) not equipped anymore to take on prized fights.

I want to see it happen, the whole world wants to see it happen...

But IMO, booth have to concede and show balls. Neither has been willing, and moreover, if this happens, we better pray time does not catch up to either one, because the clock is ticking. And what we saw from Manny yesterday was ok, not great and vs. an amatuerish looking fighter. Floyd is no spring chicken, and the last thing I want to see either is him in the ring vs. Pac, after a long layoff and then that inactivity effecting him.

I want to se eboth primed and ready to make a spectacle.

Sadly, we are wishing for too much.

I don't know.. Manny & Shane came fighting without that "killer instinct" that normal boxers have, because they are good friends. I can't stand the fact that they are hitting fists every start & end of each round - although that's good sportsmanship. Those gestures are proof that they are not out to rip each other out to put on a good show (Gatti-Ward comes to mind).

We can't really base Pacquiao's "state of performance" based on his last fight, because it was a giveaway to him, he knows in his mind that Shane has no chance, and didn't really put effort to it except in certain points in the match.

If the news articles online are true that Marquez is Pacman's next opponent (come November), to complete their trilogy, then that's another 9 months wasted away against the Pac-Weather fight. :( :slap

I actually thought the fight before manny was a much better fight. Who was it? Arce vs. Velasquez?

Yeah, that was a good fight.. I also liked the Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik vs. Alfonso Lopez. Lots of drama - Pavlik had a publicized trip to rehab following his unanimous decision loss to Sergio Martinez (his last fight), and Lopez was unbeaten before the fight.

Pretty boring fight, a 1/6 Manny figure would be pretty cool though

There was actually one made by my good friend, Francis Lerma:

Wow, that looks pretty good! I hope the company that's doing the Mike Tyson figure does Manny as well.

I really feel bad for mosely. I think because of the outcome, people are writing articles that insinuate he was just there for payday. That is total BS. I think what originally stepped in the ring was a dangerous and determined fighter. Mosely was 46W, 39 of that KO. Thats a damn impressive record. But as a testament to how great PAC has become, he not only destroyed mosely but broke him.

There's no way I would be convinced that mosely came in for the money which unfortunately people are writing now cause he run away throughout the fight. You can see it in mosely's face when he got knocked down, it wasn't a dazed look but more of a Holy crap :horrorstunned look. Same expression de la hoya had after the beating. The thing is these are both fighters that never ran and ducked anybody. Even tho delahoya choked in a lot of big fights, to his credit he faced the best in his division. But after he faced PAC, he had that same face that is just stunned by how strong PAC really is. I just feel bad for mosely cause people are making it look like he was there just go collect his paycheck but there's no way I would believe that.

Altho I'm a PAC fan, I'm also a huge fan of mosely. I was actually extremely nervous before the fight cause I knew that the mosely that first stepped in the ring was out to prove everyone wrong but that huge knock down broke him. As he said after the fight, he has never been hit by that kind of power before.

he's never been knocked down before. Not even by Floyd. After seeing the fight last night, i changed my mind that Manny can beat Floyd. Before, last night, i thought Floyd can beat Manny easily but I changed my mind.

Mosley's been knocked down before, just not KO'd.

Now don't get me wrong, Manny is a TREMENDOUS fighter, but aside from that knockdown and a few moments late in the fight, Mosley was for the most part able to keep Pacquiao's fury at bay, albeit without putting on any kind of offensive effort. Now if Mosley is able to do that, Mayweather can certainly do an even better job at that, with him being probably the greatest defensive fighter out there today.

Having said that, Manny might have been holding back a bit due to knowing that he was winning the fight and didn't need to go after Shane and try to KO a man who's never been KO'd before (although he did try after that bs knockdown call when Manny slipped). But Mayweather wouldn't just let himself get so behind on the cards like Mosley did, so Pacquiao would go after him a lot harder, and Mayweather would have to put on a bit of an offensive show if he was to try and beat him.

Long story short, Pacquiao Mayweather would make for a MUCH better fight than Pacquiao Mosley did, and it better friggin happen soon!!!!

P.S. Arce vs. Vazquez, now that was a FIGHT. Holy s___!

I don't pretend to know all there is about boxing. I know only what I read.
Just about every boxing critic I come across will say that there is no one left for Pacquiao to fight. Is the same true of Mayweather?

Articles discussing a possible Pacquiao/Mayweather fight, always have the fingers pointing to the Mayweather camp for postponing or resisting.

If these two don't fight soon, then the fight may never happen, due to Mayweather's legal problems.

And the Mayweather/Ortiz fight may not happen:

The Arce/Vazquez fight was indeed the best fight of the night.

I was glad to see the kid get a taste of defeat, especially with all the yapping he was doing prior to the fight.
I'm not too fond of athletes who either talk hard or showboat.

I'm more appreciative of the athletes who are modest and let their skills do all the talking during game time.

Anyway, looks like Vazquez wants a rematch immediately.
I think he's got some growing up to do first.
