I know I push it a lot, but to me, if a figure looks great on it's own, I don't need to worry about scale. The figure will hold it's own and display great. I don't NEED to put it next to another and reenact a scene from the movie (I get the appeal though for those who do) I just need to pose it great and put it on the shelf, every now and than change the pose. But again, I'm aware I'm one of few.

So to me, Maul will be awesome, I'll be able to get the amazing poses SS couldn't offer me, and be completely satisfied with a great toy. I thought I was done with PT, but this and Jango dragged me back in. I hope Medi does an Anakin (with an angrier face) and Obi (yes, SS one is awesome, but again body and my personal style lies with Medi) along with a Dooku and gives me my full PT wants!

Scale doesn't bother me a bit. If it's quality, it earns a place at my home. I don't get married to any company or line - I just get what I like! From there, I work out how to group & display them. Free yourself from your own self-imposed constraints.

So, when Jango arrives, he'll have his own shelf, standing next to the MR props someday.

But as far as Maul, yeah, I may pass. I'm more concerned about obtaining the newly announced kubrick Maul + speeder bike.

Yeah, if I had a SS Maul and was happy with it I can see passing a $150 one easily, regardless of posing and what not. I don't have SS Maul and don't think I'd be happy with it. BUT I also think $150 is too much. I'll just wait it out though, patience.......he will come to me:emperor

I guess he won't but a deal will IN TIME BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:emperor :emperor :emperor

Im happy for the medi lovers who are excited for this. Personally i'm curious to see more pics that actually show the figure, just to see how medi did.

But me personally, i'm quite content with SSC Maul,

and to be honest of the 12 bodies i've played with (ssc, medi, and hot toys) hot toys is the best.

My vote also goes to Hot Toys.
Of all the figures I own, Hot Toys seems to have the best combination of durability and playability.

Very well said.

are Medicoms too small, or are Sideshows too big? my RAH fit perfectly with my Dragon and BBI figures, but the Sideshow ones tend to appear a little "toyish" next to them...

I suppose that has to do with how many figures from each company there are in your collection. I tend to have more medi (and others) than SS, so in my collection SS is the one out of scale (or just bigger depends on how you view scale), but for most of the freaks here, I believe SS far out numbers medi or HT or dragon, and as medi dont really fit in with SS, that tend to cause scale problems.

As for "toyish", I guess that depends on the figure, SS's twilight zone are very life-like IMO, but aragorn sure look like a upgraded hasbro IMO.

No, Medi is too small to be 1/6. They're just a half notch down, so that's what "Not in Scale" is talking about.

But if you're like me and enjoy the toy for what it is, not it's scale, than a Chewie for you :chew

Yeah... it doesn't matter to me... They all look cool on the shelf, so it really doesn't matter.

I have to disagree with you on that. yes, medi is smaller than SS, but they are using a different height standard. asians tend to be shorter than westerners. So even though medi is smaller, it doesn't mean they are not 1/6.

Darth Maul is Asian?

LOL that's the most absurd thing ive heard all week. Youre saying Medicom figures are short because it is an Asian company!? Sorry but that's pretty hillarious.

Im a 6'2" asian how tall are you? :rotfl

In the east they do measure differently don't they?(i thought they use metric or something thats why 11.8/300mm comes out to 12in.in the west or something.)Heard it at onesitxthwarriors.

maul has one real height and 1/6 scale should be consistent so i doubt it has to be anything with cultural heights.

but for those interested:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height#Average_adult_height_around_the_world

interesting, if these numbers are correct, then only 2 places has an average of 6 ft (12", which, I assume is what everyone here consider to be the correct 1/6 height?), Dinaric Alps (where is that?) and neatherlands.

USA is 5ft9.2. and japan is 5ft7.9.

So for a toy company making 1/6 figure, wouldn'd you use what the average height of the country you are in as the standard size base body? makes sense to me. (medi's are just a bit taller than an regular japanese.)

BTW, nash, I am 6ft asian. :D
