Yeah Medicom's price is a lot, but for the quality I have no problems paying it. I usually wait though, you can almost ALWAYS find their Star Wars RAH for about $50 less on the after market if you're patient. And I think that for the quality they're equally worth the price of SS 12". Meaning to say SS Figures Quality, you pay $60-$70, Medicom Quality you pay $100-$150, and for your money I'd say their equal. Their only BIG problem is the bodies breaking. I never had this happen, but it is a bit of an epidemic, and for the price it's crap, but hopefully they amend that. They seem to fix everything else people complain about like human likeness and wrists (scale doesn't count as a problem, it's a complex and it's the collectors bag if they have a problem with that)

Umm you are kidding right? Nash told me there was no problems with the Medicom body breaking. Glad I wasn't the only one who mentioned it (especially since there is a thread about it at Mediworld).

Cheers,

Brad

Now that we have a smaller Maul figure on the way SS's upcoming Sidious hologram will be more in scale. :monkey3

With Maul being the first Medicom version of a current SS 12 incher I'm very curious to see the results. The SS Maul is spectacular and will be hard to match, let alone beat (heck its even got a better likeness than the PF.)

Oh man, now I NEED the holo Palps if I'm getting Medi Maul, damn!

I think Wickett could out drink Maul and Jango. Maul probably doesn't drink, he's the religous type, and Jango aint got nothing on a primitive furball with the nuts to take on armed soldiers. Brave? No the Ewoks were DRUNK, but capable drunk. Ya know, the kind of folks who work BETTER while buzzed.

Interesting thing, I've thought of one area where, unless Medi's changed it's ways, the Medi figure could fall short with Maul to SSC. Sideshow Inclusive Maul is the most accessorized figure in the line, and every single item necessary for the character. As for the Medi, they seem to have 1 pair of extra hands with every figure, but for Maul, 2 extra sets like ROTJ Vader would be nice. I also hope he comes with either A) battle damaged saber with removable blade like ROTJ Vader, or B) double-bladed lightsaber that splits in half, but is not poor quality and won't stay assembled well as the full unit. My pref would be a full double and a single. I also hope they include his electrobinoculars and a removable, functional probe droid wrist control unit.

I generally feel most of the accessories are clutter. It's cool they're there, but I NEVER use 1 other than the main weapon. As long as I can pose the hell outa this thing, a lightsaber is all I need man. The rest, just get's in the way. Like a nice steak. All you need is a great cut of meat, maybe a side of something simple like taters', and you're good. Too much extra stuff wouldn't be much use.

I just need it to look great in a pose, I don't need a broken saber, I don't need a wrist thing, I won't notice because it will look so SICK without that stuff. Just me though.

I will be getting the Wicket definetly and maybe the Maul too. I need to get the ROTJ Vader and Stormtrooper and BHT sometime as well.

Just amazing news!

I'll definitely be getting this one!
I can't wait to see what other figures Medicom will bring us. Surely they'll revisit Luke and also bring more OT characters.
But right now, I'd love a Scout!

Valid enough, and if that were my collecting approach I'd agree. I don't know how familiar you are with my photoshopping and photographing of figures, but to do what I do with my pieces and enjoy them to their fullest, I need posing, but I also need all the relevant character accessories.

I feel the same about accessories. They make the overall package a bit sweeter but it's very rare that I'll pose the figure with anything other than the main weapon/accessory. And in the case of Maul,I'll probably not even use the lightsaber as hopefully I'll be getting a cordless one made by Hurricane.

Yeah, it just depends on the type of collector you are with things like that. I'd trade all the accessories in the world for a better body in the end. Just looks better on my shelf, to me.

Different strokes ya know....

More accessories the better. Gives you more than one display option.

True, I never knock MORE stuff, but just the better body gives us more display options. And agian, FOR ME, I never use that extra stuff. I never use Lukes bone (Michael Scott joke here) I never used Hans mask. It's just excess stuff. But mroe is ALWAYS better.

I didn't use half of the accessories that came with my SW SS figs.Whats the use of having all of it when it doesn't look natural posed anyways?(I won't complain about too many accessories though)

I like it incase I decide to do something different. If they don't whatever just give me the lightsaber lit on both ends and I'll be ok. I care more about the different hands than 50 different lightsabers. I feel the SS Maul looks quite natural posed the way I have it.

If you can't get SSC Maul into a natural looking pose then you're just not trying very hard.

I think it'll be pretty hard to for medicom to top Sideshow's head sculpt. It's almost perfect! I am pretty sure they'll do a great job with the costume and accessories, but when it comes to sculpt, sideshow is still number 1 in my book.

The only thing (for my money) that Medi could improve on with their Maul would be the hands. I hate how sideshow did mauls gloves and the pain in the butt they are to take on and off... but knowing Medicom, I am sure they will be worse.

i agree!! maul's hands are a P.I.T.A. to swap out.

SSC's Maul is undoubtedly one of their best 1/6 SW figures, but hardly "amazing" by any stretch of the imagination.
Here's a 1/6 Maul that fits that description much better,

And a comparison with the SSC fig :lol

I don't think there's any doubt that the RAH Maul will top the SSC version, the attire quality & poseability are a dead cert, the real question for me is whether the RAH sculpt will match the amazing work of DarthCallous.
which figure is this?? a custom or another shot of the medicom?? the details in the eyes are incredible.
