I think this is just a straight re-release... so I'd assume same body/everything. If not they'd have probably listed it as a V2 or something like they did with Vader.

And still odd that this just kind of popped up w/o any fanfare or even being mentioned as a new release on Sideshow's site

Alter Ego says it has a light up saber, did the first one have that?

EDIT: Sideshow also says light up saber in the summary description but in the pics says lightsaber does not light up...hmmmm....

9 swap out hands, a mediocre looking sabre, but man the tabard and robes look sooo much better than the ones on my SS edition. Not sure what I think and definitely not sure if I'd want it at that @220 for those differences. Plus the medi looks good with the hood up, maybe they've got wires to shape it, but he looks all Reggie Miller headed with the hood down.

Medicom Maul is an awesome figure! I want another mine broke cause it was on the old body. (so i sold it) If this is confirmed it's on the new improved body i might get one although i will wait till clearance. 219 is a tad high.


Anyone that says the SS sculpt is better is a fool!
Would like to see a HT version. (pretty much the only prequel fig i would get again)

No need to go name calling

And not my fault if you are okay with a sculpt that doesn't look like Maul Expression is better... but the sculpt is still too thin and young looking; which is pretty much par for the course from Medicom.

It will be interesting to find out if this actually has a light-up saber, or if its just a re-release.

reposting: i have both SS and medi. Except for durability, medi blows SS away with its sculpt, poseability, and wow-factor. i really dont mind the plastic belt and thick sabers. he will remain in his cloak and hood on. just hope they improved the body with this new release.

I think the Medicom sculpt is a bit better then SS but, i never owned the Medicom version and never will, i'll wait for Hot Toys to knock it out of the park.

I have both too...I prefer Medi only in the headsculpt and I like his outer cape. Body size and proportions are awful. Not to mention the pricetag: 180$ + a truetype slim body to replace the horrible stuff inside his clothes.

I never liked the SSC Maul. I'm hoping for a kicka$$ HT version one of these days.

I would almost guarantee HT is chomping at the bit to make a Maul... and can't really see much reason for Sideshow to stop them as their version is about as complete as you can get.
