I hadn't played with it. It was displayed in my cabinet when I noticed arm dangling. Took out and when removed from stand, leg too was dangling. Cheap plastic.
I added it to a hot toys neck that I got from my Spider-Man 3 black suit spidey. Nicely shaped. Here's the results.
I don't have any shots of the SS belt I'm currently using on him. Looks much better with the wide leather belt.
These could easily be mistaken for shots of Maul on set.
The only detraction is the gloves, especially the one with the control bracelet, other than that, I think you've cooked up a perfect Maul, Jim.
I've heard that the Medi Maul and SSC Maul are pretty much the same size. Is this true? If so, I might ditch my SSC Maul for this one.
Yup. Pretty much the same height but the bodies and head are very different. Medi head is much smaller than SSC. Both are good sculpts and paint jobs but I think the Medi shows more personality. The SS has a kind of blank stare. Not terrible but different.
The medi body is way too skinny for maul. It's hardly noticeable under the costume but in some poses is an eyesore. The medi neck is the down fall of this figure. Great for articulation but makes the head look like a little kid and a bit too long. The SS has only one point of articulation for the head at the base of the neck where the medi has two, neck and head. The SS doesn't look down very well without springing back into place but looks up very well. Probably has something to do with the way the buck body is made.
Medi maul is superior for posing but brittle if you have the first run. Second is much better. The sideshow is bulkier and has a better physique but doesn't look very natural like a HT true type.
