My bad,I thought you were talking about changing bodie types out.

I didn't word myself carefully, way I said it first was the way 90% of this board talks when they speak of body swap. As far I've seen, Sideshow's the only maker with a range of body sizes, despite how subtle some of them are. It's actually a shame. Medi and Hot Toys should have more range in their bodies. It might be a little more costly, but for most properties you're looking at probably 2-3 characters per body type, wouldn't hurt them in the end. We'll see if Maul's the same as the Fetts or not. I wonder if Vader was an exception, he is taller than Fett if I recall, I haven't stood them together in a while, ROTJ Vader that is.

Vader is taller, about a half inch, but that's mostly do to his helmet. If you take it off you'll notice that he's about the same size as the rest of the medi's,just slightly taller. But if you look at his shoulders, they are still higher than the other Medi's.Then again if you look at his legs ,they are longer than the other Medi's as well.So I think what Medicom did was just make his legs a little longer, couple that with a helmet and the shoulder armour and that makes him taller.

Ahhh, well extensions and such can work but only to a certain extent before body proportions are lost. I think every company should have about 3 bodies per gender. Give every body an average build, chest size, yadi yada, and have a short, average, and tall body with enough difference to work. Sure some characters might still look too short or too tall next to others where you can compare in films, but overall it'd work better, like Hot Toys' Jack Sparrow being short, or Medi's vader having a thicker build and a bit more height.

Johnny Depp's a short dude, though.

Sorry, bad wording by me again, I meant with multiple bodies, Jack could be short instead of towering tall like he currently is because Johnny is a tiny guy, but HT just has the one body and it's ok until you have other figures in the line that alter the scale. Like Rambo it's ok cuz they're all Rambo only so you don't know if he seems to tall, but the Pirates line has figures where scale is affected by one another. The differences are subtle, but the one good thing about the bucks is the range of heights, it's nice that Luke isn't as tall as Qui-Gon, as it should be.

Ahh! Gotcha. :duff

i think medi do have at least a couple of bodies. they have the big boy which is a bulkier one and then a normal one. not sure but they might also have a superhero one. scarletspidey knows a whole lot more. a lot of their figs use one off ones as well too i think like the kenshiro FTNS fig and DBZ figs.

Yep, I think you are right. I know some people added a lot of extenders when he first came out which ended-up making him look odd. Still the Medi-Vader is a great figure and looks nice with the posse.

Medi has a lot of variety in their bodies - look at the Marvel comic stuff. Bigger arms, bigger chests, longer legs - there's quite a few different parts that they mix and match for different characters. But I don't think they've done that with SW much. jedi Luke, Stormtrooper, Fetts, Maul - all the same height.

I think those are pieces that the add onto the bodies... using a modular model similar to what Sideshow is doing with the Hobbits. Not 100% sure on that, but I think there are 2 standards a massive and regular and then things are added to change the style as needed.

i think that's true for the majority of bodies (like the comic x-men ones). not sure about comic spidey though - he seems a lot taller than the others. and movie wolverine and movie ghost rider are also actual 1/6 so it leads me to believe that made there are maybe 3 or 4 standard ones, some custom ones and then they build the rest out of modular parts like you said.

I forgot about the Ghost Rider figure, he does seem to be on a larger body. And its not just extenders because he has good proportions.

The GR figure uses the normal RAH body plus the extra chest muscle. It was a good choice rather than Supe's comic superhero body.

Hey Scarlet do you have any comparison shots of the different Medicom bodies in use? I know you've done some customs and have a good sized collection.

These are your basic bodies except for those unique types like comic Venom, Spawn, Anime based characters etc and the smaller RAH 220 type.

I kind of figured Medicom had a few different bodies just by looking at them.

Thanks for those pics Scarlet. Other than the smaller size the RAH body is my favorite. All companies should produce a body that can have muscle added when needed like the RAH.
