They seem to use this body fairly heavily, I've got about half a dozen Medi figures and they all seem to use this one.

Thanks for the hook-up Scarlet. So I couldn't tell from the photo, but are they all approximately the same height... and then extenders are added. Or are some taller than others?

the 220 the shorter one? is that the one used for most of the SW stuff then? so far their marvel movie ones look to be on a taller body - like the spideys, x3 wolverine and GR. or is it all extenders like galactiboy said.

I have 3 SW medis and the X3 Wolvie, S3 Spidey and Jack Sparrow, I'll have a look at their heights when I get home later.

Haha! No offense meant, eigthsamurai. Heck, I didn't even know you were "one of them", which is to your credit. :lol

it's all good dude! i was only messing. i used to be a serious medi follower and stayed away from this board for a long time. mainly because some of the more serious ss superfans on the freaks board p***ed me off. but it just doesn't make sense to me anymore to be loyal to one company, whether it be medi or ss. they're just not comparable.

i'm back on the freaks board a lot more now - i love the custom threads, and there are some really cool people here. i guess you just have to know who to watch out for and which topics to avoid.

I don't think they use the 220 on the Star wars figures... Ed uses one, but he's way short. Comes up to the elbows on most figures.

May I take a guess I was one of them.

to be honest dude, i don't think so. i can't really remember. i don't think it was anyone specific - it was a more of a few people collectively creating an air of superiority and intolerance. i don't see it that much at all anymore. i think everyone (almost everyone) is a lot more objective and fair about these things now. it makes for a much nicer place to hang out and talk about the dollies. i remember we had a run in at mediworld (something between vice and yourself), but i don't remember what that was about. my new year's resolution every year is to let the past year be the past, not to bear grudges and to let things go. as the japanese say, "何処か立小便する所が無いかな”

I agree. The past is the past.

The funny thing is I really like Medicoms stuff. So I don't get some of the railing made against them.

well i can understand some of it. currently i don't really like that some of the plastic they use is brittle. a lot of people at mediworld have had issues with stuff breaking straight out of the box. and the price thing also - i know many people thing medi's SW stuff should be half what it is now. i wouldn't go that far but i do think it could be a little cheaper, maybe $20-$30 (despite the "Total Quality management" production process they employ, import fees, fine materials etc.). people don't like the scale either. it would be nice if everything was the same size but it doesn't bother me too much.

they do make damn nice looking stuff though. i was taken aback when i saw jango, boba, vader and the stormies for the first time. even if you don't like medi for whatever reason, you have to admit that on a shelf their SW stuff does impress.

Medicom's armored stuff is impressive, I can only imagine if their human portraits ever caught up with the rest of 1/6 world. My big issue with Medi is their wrists, It's just limiting how they pivot, and I can think of some poses with Boba and Jango I'd like do to but can't. That and how they do interchangeable gloves, it's a little sketchy on Darth Vader, I'm hoping it's something new or at least improved with Maul.

I say 70% of medicom figures are made of this 301 body which is called the naked type.

All of the medicom body are of the same height GB. The variation in height comes from the added extenders.(which I didnt show in the pics)

I thought the 220 was for the 1/9th scale stuff or kids like Ed Elric?

Yeah what DD said. The "12" inch figures uses the 301 body whereas the 220 bodies are used for 1/8 scaled figures or children sized characters like Edward FMA.

Thanks, appreciate the lessons :lol Its interesting that even with the extenders the bodies still have a nice proportion... even if the heights are different. Medicom really does have that down, and the fantastic tailoring doesn't hurt.

Best thing I love about the RAH body is the human shape, espcially the shoulders.

The new Hot Toys body, while highly articulated and sturdy, is just too broad in the shoulders.
