Best thing I love about the RAH body is the human shape, espcially the shoulders.

The new Hot Toys body, while highly articulated and sturdy, is just too broad in the shoulders.

Yeah, I agree as well. If the Medi body was just a smidge taller and without those horrible wrist joints... it would be my favorite body out there.

HT works great for superheroes and heroic characters that have some build. But they look odd with characters like Jack Sparrow and shorter, smaller guys.

SSC bodies are best for skinny tall characters or skinny short characters ( if you are lucky enough to find a loose short body).

Dragon are my current favorite, best average joe body on the market IMO.

Thanks, appreciate the lessons :lol Its interesting that even with the extenders the bodies still have a nice proportion... even if the heights are different. Medicom really does have that down, and the fantastic tailoring doesn't hurt.

I agree. Despite adding the extenders, the RAH body surprisingly is able to look proportionate.

However, I hope Medicom would release a new body for "Giants" and debut that body on a new Vader. The RAH Vaders were proportionatley perfect, except they were small overall.

Couldnt agree more. The reason why I love using the RAH body for my customs cos they have the most realistic human body shape. Ironically, the RAH shoulders which are the best in terms of human likeness is also the worst in terms of fragility.

do you think medicom will ever change the scale of their SW figs? i'm really not sure. a lot of people mut have mentioned it to them but they must be going for consistency with the rest of their SW figs.

scarlet you da man! like a fountain of knowledge.

i have to say, i absolutely love the hot toys truetype, but like everyone else said it doesn't work for all their figs. dragon is veeery cheap and has great proportions.

If Medicom were to change the scale of their figures that would be so awsome. No more pesky exstenders. The great thing about Maul is he is a little guy which will hopefully look good next to the SS figures.

Ya, that's actually one thing I hate. With Hot Toys, I pose the shoulders pretty care free, but with Medicom I use caution and probably don't even get the full range out of them because I reach points where I seem to find resistance and don't want to risk going further to see if there is more to go or if I've hit the end and then SNAP.

Ok,action-HQ has this guy as in stock on feb 29.(and they've been pretty reliable)So were lookin at least march it seems at this point.

Great looking figure I can't wait to have it, but mad does that portrait in the lower right corner give him a pencil neck.

Ya, it's been a while since a quality Maul piece came out, been a while since the PF shipped, too long a dry spell, but now this will ship soon and the DOTF dio is going up for order soon, good times to for Maul fans.

:rotfl

Really though, that picture and many others show him to have an odd almost emaciated look to the sculpt.

Sculpt looks good, they just tend to make all their jawlines somewhat pointed at the chin, and they have smaller necks so it's an odd effect, thankfully not apparenty from all angles and once Maul is posed properly, his neck will be the least eye-catching element. I just think it's poor selection for a marketing photo.

Yeah, but it kinda works here. Ray is a scrawny guy with high muscle density. granted this is more skinny than him, but still... Still not 100% on the likeness. It's good, but I can't say one way or the other till it's in hand. Worst case scenario, I'll just consider it a "comic book" version of his face :D

Many figures and collectibles have ended up more idealized or artistic and not true to Ray's portrait and been good representations of the character, but in the debate of this figure being the best Maul ever, missing Ray's likeness takes points away.

I dunno I can see where Medi may have taken their cue from for the likeness in that picture but it looks as though the picture of Park is at an angle whereas the figure is being shot straight on. Had they sorted out what appears as the weirdness in the jaw area this would be a really great likeness, as it stands now though... meh. :lol

Gotta disagree Chavez. It's a great Maul Sure, but having met Ray park ( great guy by the way, really happy they dubed over his voice in TPM though, a squeaky brittish sith just would not have worked) in person, from what i can tell of the the pics of the figure, the likeness to him is not there.
Great looking maul, So-so looking Ray Park.
I MIGHT change my opinion when I get him in hand. We will see. :rock

I haven't met Ray but I love his stunt and acting work, but definitely not the right kinda voice for a Dark Lord of the Sith. Even his voice as Toad in X-Men, while not totally like his normal voice, wasn't quite villainous enough.
