The body styling from the Medi looks better for Maul, much thinner and much more like I remember him from TPM. The neck is really distracting and throws off a good headsculpt enough to have me not buy it (enough though I didn't anyway). The poses that I've seen and sure will see will definitely make use of the RAH body but the hands are too large to look natural another unfortunate production casuality. I don't like the thin sabers either. Both SSC's Maul and Medi's Maul have their flaws...looks wise if you get past the neck Medi's Maul looks more like him but overall I'm gonna stick with my SSC.

I could live with the minor flaws that Medi Maul has,but really can't live with the huge flaws SS Maul has IMO.

Price is a factor in my case. I can't afford Medi or Hot Toys pricing on figures that don't sell me 100%, for now SSC's pricing allows a few errors.....of course the way that prices are rising they are quickly heading into that same camp as well.....the flaws are enough not to plunk down the Medi cash but it in no terms is a bad figure. I think its definitely one of their best behind the Fetts.

SS has stepped up their game officially IMO you might as well starting now start clumping them all into the same category.(SS being a tad cheaper in the long run..but all ABOUT the same)

They are on their way no doubt but they aren't in the same category just yet....

Honeslty neither one of them look so good in Dave's pic... but on a shelf and in person I really like the way the SS one looks. I imagine the same would be true for the Medicom version. But as I already have SS's I'm sitting this one out :lol

Advantage Medicom.

The only thing I'm not liking to any great degree is the 2-part gloves which look crap. Is it possible for Maul to hold his saber with the 1-piece gloves?

Posed properly the 2 piece gloves are a great innovation. I wish the SSC one had these. And no, he can't hold the saber with the crossed arms gloves.

Thanks for the info. I know why Medicom did it but to me the 2-part gloves look like he's wearing a seperate glove and then a big wristband and it doesn't look film accurate at all. I think I may have to either modify the one piece gloves or make my own.

Is the width of of the light saber "blade" on the medi Maul inaccurate? It appears very thick compared to SS Maul.

In any case, Medicom Maul looks great, and I think with a bit of futzing you can hide a bit of his long neck with his clothes. It's the only aspect of the figure that threw me off at first.

If you kit bashed the two figures together you would have the perfect Maul.

Someone ought to give it a try. :maul

Once again we are given a well posed and futzed Medicom figure to compare against an obviously rushed pose and poorly futzed SS figure :monkey4

I like both brands myself i have several of each, the expression is better on the Medi while I think the SS looks more like Ray Park, I've found the cloths on the SS to be very nice as well. I won't be buying the Medi as Maul isn't one of my fav. characters :monkey1

Give Medi-Maul the Sideshow robes, the saber and belt and he would be just about perfect. Imo of course. :D

This the best i can find but i don't know how accurate

The medicom comparison shots look like the proto, so its not a fair comparison. The lack of skin texture is very disappointing indeed. Still on the fence as to whether I cancel my order or not. We need better Medicom/SS comparison pictures from someone who is going to do both figures justice. MaulFan, when is yours sue to arrive????

My opinion, i prefer the medicom robe more. the belt, i'll have to judge in person when i get it. I agree the ss saber has more detailing, but i like the thicker blade.

In my personal experience, medicom figures don't need to be "futzed" ( i hate that word ), and they dont need water treatments.
