I only have armoured medi ie:SandT, Clone & Boba, the clones where fine boba needed work to improve (including minor futzing and repositioning of cloths) Medi are no-way the ultimate in 1/6 they are great but you could still pick them to pieces if you wanted too including the sculpting of the armour,,,There I said it. :monkey1 IMO I can't see how you would get the perfect fig straight out of the box they all need a degree of futzing:rolleyes:.

I never said they are the ultimate in anything. I just said in my personal experience ive never had to "futz" any of my medicom figures , but I do have to with my sideshow ones. if you cant accept that, thats your problem.

Just FYI, go ask anyone if they need to futz a Takara Batman or Hot Toys superman out of the box. YEAH there are figures that you dont have to mess with out of the box. just because your beloved sideshow doesnt apply to that rule, dont get your panties in a bunch. It's not my fault that you don't buy bad ass figures.

I never said you said anything? and for the record I'm not SS fanatic (so please don't throw in the old beloved crap all the time) I stated I like both brands so it would be you Nash getting panties in a knot :D - just cause you like to display non futzed figures it's not my fault you don't have an artistic eye, and it seems you are the one who can't accept that Medi is not perfect, they are prob the best out there but not perfect.
And as stated before the only reason I'm not getting this is because i don't like Maul enough to have 2 of this particular character.

Nice pic above by the way!:emperor

lol, ok sorry my opinion of things is invalid because I dont have an artistic eye. :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

I accept clearly that no company is perfect, no matter how you anyone here wants to twist things. I always give credit where due and negativity where due. you dont see me bashing the SS ANH Obiwan do you? Get your head out of your ass, you can breathe better trust me. You don't even have to owe me anything for my advice. :lol

What are the Medi collectors so afraid of?medi is clearly a better product so there is no need to dumb down the SS figs when comparing:monkey1

[Maul looks great and I especially like the boots.:lol But I am not spending another $150 on a Medicom figure that is not worth the high price tag. I've learned my lesson by purchasing Boba and Jango. Ebay it is.:D

I agree, you can find them cheaper besides SS's site! :chew

The prices at the moment on ebay are practically the same as SS, and at least with SS you get the rewards points.

I think I gotta pass on Maul for now. I was planning on getting a Medi Blade and Punisher and both of those are only $99. So it's 2 figures for $200 or 1 for $150.

Hey, edwint. Before this thread gets either dusted or locked due to the personal attacks happening because of the same tired Medi vs SS debate I'll answer your question:

The first one that springs to mind is the Takara Batman. Even though it's one of the most expensive figures out there at $150+, it is definitely worth that, imho. Just an amazing figure that doesn't seem like a cheap toy in any way. As much as I love Sideshow, Hot Toys and Medicom stuff a lot of times they do come out very toyish (especially Medi)... not so at all with the Takara Batman.

Sideshow's best bargain, imho, is the Palpatine/Sidious 2-Pack. For $120, you get two very detailed and extremely well-done 1/6 figures with lots of accessories.

I paid $120 for my Medicom ROTJ Vader and I would say it's very worth it. I also think their X3 Wolverine figure was an awesome get for $90, as were their Spider-Man 3 figures.

Hot Toys is hit or miss as far as "value", but for the most part I usually feel more than comfortable with the pricepoints for their figures once I get them. For example, when the RE4 Leon figure was announced at $150 it really gave me pause. But once I got it in-hand I realized that is a more than fair price for a figure as detailed as this with such great clothing and accessories.

Conversely, I feel that the Medicom Maul is probably about $50 too much. I'm happy to have it, but I really don't feel like this is worthy of its $150 asking price. The Shocktrooper is a bit overpriced too, imho, but I felt better about springing $150 for that than I did Maul. Still both great figures, though.

In closing... Takara Batman for the win. :monkey5

That's really cool! Probably the best shot of him yet! I still can't justify the pricetag, but that aside I think this figure is hands down one of Medicom's best and I don't even care for Maul all that much!

Give Medi-Maul the Sideshow robes, the saber and belt and he would be just about perfect. Imo of course. :D

I'm not sure that's the solution. The RAH body, while better for poseability, is quite skinny and with the elongated neck, gives Maul and overall mismatched representation of the film character. It's a cool looking figure, but based on all the images, Sideshow's is a better representation of Ray Park as Darth Maul. Still looking forward to adding this one to my Maul collection though.

i think he looks awesome, no skin texture is enough for me to not pay full price for him, but i didn't so mine was a steal using RP!!!!! when mine comes, i'll do comparison shots, and post them if nobody else does!!!!!

I'll be doing many pictures and futzing with the clothes to see if I can hid the neck.

It's interesting, this is the first Medi figure where the neck's seemed too long, yet it doesn't look like they're doing anything differen than they always do.
